question for any of the older made talon ss owners…
…or anyone who may know the reason why it takes a little extra effort to cock my 2004 ss? It seems that when it gets to max spring compression it hits a “snag”, if you will, and I have to give it a little extra “jab” to get it to cock. Once cocked everything works as it should. I looked at the seating depth of the breech knob on the breech and it is not hitting the frame, so that is not it.

Just wanted to report that I got my tank back from the dive shop and put the valve back together and as some of you predicted I am getting 100 fps faster speeds due to the valve mod. Very nice indeed! 😈

if the brass hammer weight is seperate from the hammer like in a condor try taking it out and see if it still binds up on you…
It’s only on 4. I did notice that when I was taking it apart the trigger sear seamed to stick up into the frame a little more than my condors…could that be??? were the sears different on the older ones???
The cocking effort is not harder…it’s just that when you get to the very end you have to give it a little push to get it to engage. Also, I am using the extra hammer weight (brass) if this means anything????
On a SS you really should never have to crank up the power wheel to max. Usually between 4-8 will give max fps.

Good idea, that was actually my next step. Although it is not that big of a deal right now, so I will probablly wait until I give it a good cleaning in the near future.
