Power wheel plastic indicator allen bolt
This is just a post if any of you have had a problem with the plastic allen head bolt that screws into your power wheel, I have seen several post on this bolt where the head strips out because the allen wrench turns inside of the head! Anyway I always try and be careful with it and tearing it apart recently mine did this very same thing! To make a long story short I got it out and bought a new steel allen head bolt to replace it and this is just for anyone wanting to know the size of this bolt it is a 3/48 allen head bolt one of my local hardware stores had them but I know most don’t. I had to grind a bit off the one I bought it was 3/16 long and needs to be about an 1/8 inch long! only difference is it takes the next size smaller allen wrench which would be a 5/64 so the head is a tad smaller which is not a problem. Anyway thought I would post this if any of you have or have had this problem I think we all will eventually, I use a bit of blue locktite on mine not much at all needed just to keep it from backing out hope this might help some one out. My guess on why it’s plastic is so it doesn’t scratch the frame as it moves.
I think they should put an aluminum insert in the sliding breech to keep those threads from wearing out too.
But hey, that’s just me.

Yep just passed this along to some thought it would be usefull,why they use a plastic screw? I am sure if you go to a metal one you won’t have that problem again! Granite you are still screwing it into plastic but you just need to not tighten it up much at all, just a dab of blue loctite and you are good to go! You have to remember all this is for is a pointer it has very little if no stress on it at all 😆

That might be Jim there might be enough room on there with the smaller head to press on a delrin bushing or brass?
