Got my 4-16x PST FFP today….
First off, I am by far not a scope EXPERT. I only have 1 other higher end scope to compare this to, so dont blast me… These are just my basic observations – to date, I havent heard of anyone else with one of these in their hands.
First impressions with the scope unmounted are NICE.
Build quality feels solid. Knobs provide crisp tactile adjustment. The knurling on the knobs provides an amazing amount of grip. By far the best feel on the side parallax adjustment of the Hawkes and Nikkos I have – it adjusts with enough resistance to give fine tuning ability yet enough to give you the feeling that its not going to slip at all.
Looking through each side by side, I would say the optics quality is on par with my Elite 4200. Crosshairs are pretty thin even when zoomed in completely. Zoomed out all the way to 4x, the crosshairs almost get lost, they appear so small – at this mag they account for rougly 1/5 the vertical/horizontal field of view.
So far my only gripe is that the battery compartment for the IR is screwed on so tight I cant get it open to install the battery……
