I wanted to get some opionions on an LW 10" barrel pcp.
…pistol I am going to build. It can be built one of two ways.
My first option is with a disco tube and qb79 drop tank block with a hpa tank fitted with a 2000 psi regulated output and Rich in mich full barrel shroud, boss max flow valve, hammer weight can be whatever is needed as well as hammer spring. I am wondering if this 2000 psi output will be “overkill” and if it will make my pellets travel much too fast. I am thinking this will be the case.
If the drop tank is “too much” for this little 10″ barrel, then I can go with option #2 which is a disco pcp tube cut down to pistol/carbine length. I think option 2, but I digress….thanks guys.

I run a boss valve, the breech & barrel set ups are from Daq.
Interesting, I too have a .25 DAQ barrel on the way. I have heard that the bores vary ever so slightly. Tell me, what ammo does your barrel prefer (.25) and is she accurate? Thanks.

That will be option 2…but I had not thought about the regulator. Doesn’t it go where the pressure gauge goes? I remember hearing about them…but forgot where to get one from??? I don’t think they are factory, correct?

Very nice pair of pistols. Who made those breeches? Nice energy from them as well, although fpe production is a combination of things…not just barrel size…What kind of valves are they running? Who did you get the barrels from? Thanks.

Thats good that you have the spring adjuster.
Because is it one of the key parts for these guns to make power. 😀
One thing that will help in power is a hammer adjuster & strong hammer spring.
It will be a 3000 psi bottle with a 2000 reg output. Once I decide on what components will go into it…I will mess around with different hammer springs, weights, etc. I have a few custom hammer spring adjusters laying around that will be included as well 😉
Running 2000 psi will give more shots, even with bulking the gun.
One thing that will help in power is a hammer adjuster & strong hammer spring.
I ran mine with a 2250 tube, & with the valve pinned.
On 1350 psi. The top gun is a 9mm running at 60 fpe with a 13 inch barrel & would do 50 fpe with a 10 inch barrel also.
The bottom gun is a 25. & makes 30 fpe with a 10 inch barrel.
So the barrel size will make the fpe, you just need to think about how many shots will work for you.
That is bulking v.s air tube.

I originally bought this tank with the 2,000 psi output for a 24″LW .25 barrel that I have…but I have since used that barrel in my disco build that some of you might remember (od green with collapsable stock).
I might have to hold off with this drop tank set up for a 9 mm barrel/breech or another .25 cal as the caliber I am building with the 10″ LW barrel is only a .177 (sorry, I forgot to mention that in original post).
I want to push the pellets as fast as possible but I don’t want them to go too fast….

Maw, I will build the gun around the tank this way I can use whatever parts I have..so rather than drop the reg to 1600, I will hunt for the proper parts to build “around” the tank as it is. I always wanted a 9 mm carbine…so hopefully I can find or have someone build me a breech and barrel 😎
I’m all for number 1, but as Rob said getting the valve and spring and hammer to work right may take some doing, I’m thinking 1600psi maybe alot easier for you to get set up right.
