Edgun "old barrel" vs. "new barrel"…no

Here’s the thought. Most of us can’t shoot up to the full potential of the “old barrel” to begin with!

Even using bench rests, few of us can reach sub-sub-minute of angle performance at 100 yards. The ignorant masses are not that skilled, trained, nor have the time to devote to perfecting that degree of accuracy.

Enter the “new barrel”. Ed is simply trying to make an “Excellent” rifle into a “Perfect” rifle, that’s all. And judging from his efforts, he won’t stop there. That’s what makes an Edgun so special. It’s not mass produced and dropped on the market by the tens of thousands in whatever condition the machine spits it out. Each rifle is individually tested, and the proof is sent with the rifle.

If the “old barrel” can shoot the American quarter sized eyes out of a monkey at 100 yards, I have no concern that the “new barrel” is capable of shooting the pupils out of the eyes of that monkey at 100 yards. Most of us would be proud to just claim a clean head shot. The monkey doesn’t give a damn either!

And….to be perfectly honest, if I saw a monkey in Arkansas, I doubt I would shoot it anyway! So don’t feel shorted if you own an Edgun with an “old barrel”. It’s already more than you need, and capable of more accuracy than 99% of us can achieve.

As for the stock…Ed makes a custom rifle, the stock is secondary, but functional. You can always have a custom stock maker fix you up with a finely grained, burled walnut stock to set the rifle off. Personally, I’ll settle for the quite adequate factory stock, and enjoy the quality, durability, and accuracy, those saved dollars pump into the business end of that weapon!
