Black Cloud in Scope?

This was a problem that I created and it corrected itself, duh?

It had been several rain showers and the sun was out again with temperature and humidity rising. By now the walls were closing in an I had ta get out of the house. It was cool and dry inside and 95% humidity sweltering outside.

I took my condor and walked around the pond. I opened the butler creek caps just out the door. By this time sweat was dripping off my nose and my clothes were damp. Decided to take a shot and got the surprise of my life!

Looking through the scope it had a “Black clould inside”. It was too black to shoot with but some light was getting through. I looked at the open sky and open water. Yep still there.

Shock set in, not panic, this being the first major scope failure in my experience of using rifle scopes. Calmed down a bit and decided to look through the scope backwards? What did I see? Condensate on the outside of the eyepiece lense. Relief yes relief.

At this point I had to walk it off and eventually the problem fixed itself.

No water was inside of the scope!
