Shooting Chrony Home made LED light kit…
Got a couple of 15hr, Plug into the wall rechargeable, LED lights that
have a low and high brightness setting. Some 1-1/2″ PVC pipe, 4 small
wood screws, a 3/4″ spade drill bit, and some 2 part Epoxy.
I drilled a 3/4″ hole in the middle of each of the Sky Screens, then
Epoxied a 3″ tall piece of 1-1/2″ PCV pipe around the hole to center the
lights over the hole. Once the Epoxy dried some, I drilled pilot holes
through the middle of the Sky Screens and into the wall of the PVC on
each side then, put in small screws to prevent the flexing of the Sky
screens from separating the PVC from the screen…. It was too dark for
the Chrony to see the pellets fly by so, to test, I shot through the Chrony
with the lights on bright and got a #9 code. I reset the lights to the low
setting and it worked like a charm… I tried setting the lights on top of
the Sky Screens before I cut the holes and the lights were not bright
enough to shine through the screen and hit the pickups… I haven’t tried
it in the bright daylight yet so, I will do that tomorrow…
It is sorta ghetto but it was only $16.00….

I built up and tore down the 9 LED flashlight beam that was on the yellow. Some joke I guess? Then I broke down and bought the Chrony LED light.
Like Revwarnut suggests, you could have a problem staying inline with the 2 beams. The Chrony LED lights are about 6 3/4″ wide and are red. Is the 15hr a multiple LED and IR ❓
You may have to shoot dangerously close to the sensors.

Man I do not know Pab…. It must have taken a crap…. The numbers coming
out of that thing were just all over the place and it took an act of congress to
get it to read… I would read for a while then start showing BAD….
Batteries?
Changed them and same result…. I even hooked it to the adapter that holds the AA batteries and still no help
Lights have been on for 4 hrs and still working great.

What happened to the Combro?
I tested it this morning in low to bright sunlight conditions and it is rock
solid… My chrony numbers are super consistent… I have had the lights on
for 2 hrs so far… I will let them run to test the 15hr run time claim…..
Looks like a nice idea!
However, wouldn’t you have to take care to shoot thorough the beam of light being projected downwards?
Probably not to much trouble to do that I suppose though…. Just thinking…

Nice job on the lights. I bought the light kit with mine and I found it to be more than I thought I’d deal with setting up and taking down. Sold the whole thing in favor of the combro. I could deal with your set up. Next time I shoot the combro I might another F1 and try your light approach.
Thanks Bean. This room is what I consider my garage. I think it is about 12 X
24′ and air conditioned… See the gas can?…. It is simulated hardwood. Not
even Pergo… It was here when I moved in… I like the Red Shooting
Chrony better that the Green with the remote wire… You can not shoot
the screen on the red one as easily.. It has a remote wire that plugs into
the Chrony so you can put it where ever you want and keep it out of the
line of fire……lol
Is that your kitchen or do you have hardwood floors in your workshop???

If you look close at the picture you can see the light beam shinning on
the board…
If you miss the light beam, you will miss the pickups….
