Lelya shooting .177 at 75 meters.
This video is fun shooting from EDgun Lelya, caliber .177, pellets JSB 7.5 grain, the speed of the pellet 880 f/sec. The distance to the targets — 75 meters. The target — stink alcohol beverage popular among Russian youth 🙁 unfortunately. Since the founder of EDgun company considers alcohol as a tool for destroying a human personality the shooting in those cans was double fun 🙂 The external diameter of the can is 65.75 mm (2.58″) but all the pellets hit the inner circle of the can which has diameter 40 mm (1,57″). While zeroing the Lelya for shooting at 75 meters three test shots were inside 14 mm. circle 🙂 The scope installed on Lelya — Tasco Super Sniper 10×42 mm (a little big for this tiny gun 🙂 )

Will it have similar fps and fpe than the Standard Long Bullpup or better?
We are about to start the assembling the new gun, long one (more then 1.25 meters) with gun stock and the whole appearance like modern sniper’s rifles 🙂 When I look on it in the program I like it a lot, expecting it to be much better in the real life 🙂 Coming soon…

I shot a lot of rats and pidgeons with a Weihrauch spring rifle back in the 1970’s, and it only made <700 fps, and held enough air for one shot. But it still took down the critters as far as my tiny Beeman 4X scope could see.
So, no need to feel thirty .22 caliber shots at 800 fps is anything less than great. It looks to be great for “special needs”. Perfect for back yard and tree top pest control. I love the size.
People want more….let them buy a long Edgun in .25 caliber!

Thanks Ed, 800ft/s is very impressive… I was not expecting this much speed
from the .22cal…. The shoot count is even more impressive as there is no
guns with this shoot count for such a small air volume capacity in any
caliber…. It is an amazing gun….

There is no mention of FPS nor a distinction between .177 and
.22 shot count… Just says 50 shots… Ergo our questions about FPS and shot
count when filling to 3,000psi….
Well, guys, from my experience with Lelyas in .22 and .177 I can say that you may fill it up to 240 bar and it will work down to 120 bar. With the recommended speed for 10.5 grain pellets in .177 as 800 f/sec and for 16 grain pellets in .22 as the same 800 f/sec. The average number of shoots under such recommendations are about 35-40 for .177 and about 25-30 for .22. Hope that is enough for such a tiny gun with reservoir capacity only 80 cm3 🙂

Anyway, I am very curious as to how the Leyla performs. I considered a short Edgun but it does not offer the ultra compact platform that the Leyla does.
The only hesitatation I might have with a Leyla would be the 3500 psi fill pressure. A standard high pressure scuba tank fills to 3450 psi and very few scuba shops will go higher. That leaves the 4600 psi fiber tanks. I’m not sure I want to invest more money that I already have in ultra-high pressure air equipment. Unless you live near a large city, it’s hard to get filled to that pressure.
I would have preferred a larger diameter air tube on the Leyla at 3K psi, making life a bit simplier and easier. However, I suspect filling to 3000 will still result in an adequate number of shots since it is regulated.
Just my thoughts. I remain extremely curious as to its muzzle velocity and effective range. The videos certainly indicated the .117 can reach out and touch someone.

If I remember correctly the Lelya would perform down to 1,700psi but
that was .177cal…. I am guessing that it would still yield 25-35 shots in
.22cal if filled to 3,000psi. In my experience you can only fill to about
2,850psi at the most with a 3,000psi tank unless you overfill to 3,200on
the tank which I am sure is not advisable because you really be pushing
the burst disc to the limit… Maybe Ed will chime in and give us some
5.5cal Lelya numbers for speed and shot count….

Of course not, Lelya is smaller and weaker lady 🙂 Ups, silly me, you meant the new gun 🙂 That will be about the same as the long Matador, maybe a little more powerful.
