Q:

Fiocchi Ammunition

Fiocchi-223HVB50, 223 Rem, Hornady V-Max Polymer Tip, 40 GR, 3650 fps, 50 Rd/box: about $20 bucks?
PMC——–223A____223 Rem, Full Metal Jacket Boat–Tail, 55 GR, 3200 fps, 20 Rd/box: about $7 bucks. 3 boxes @ $21.oo /60 rounds

Have you used or in the know on the “‘Fiocchi .223 V-Max Poly Tip bullet?'” Is it a better round than then the PMC FMJBT bullet?

If you have used Fiocchi ammunition, what was your results, good or bad?

$20 bucks sounds to good to be true for 50 rounds of Varmint ammo!

i dont buy factory ammo anymore unless is LR ammo
i reload all my stuff i know it is clean , consitant and precise
i love varmint grenades in my .223 they rip the shit outta the chucks and crows
as well as turn the inside of a yote to jello

but when im runnin low on them i always have the nosler ballistic tips on hand and they are deadly accurate and devastating also

V-Max bullets are a blast on ground hogs. We shot about 700 marmots with 40gn V-Max in .22-250 – the destruction is incredible. In one case I shot one right in the head and all there was left was a body with no head, like the head had been sliced off and the front teeth sitting on a rock like the little bugger took them out before he went to sleep…. That and blood and brains splattered all around.

Those should work perfectly then!!! 😉

Probably better than the PMC… 😯

Will be used in my Remington 700 SPS Varmint .223 1in14 slow twist. I have been using the PMC 55gr fmjbt, because they are available close to home and very cheap.

The PMC work great on ground hogs, but I think the poly tips will do a better job.

My laptop hd crapped out and my tower has no either net card so I’m in a pickle for getting on net for a few days.

Sam 😆

What kind of rifle are you shooting it out of?

That is a good round for one in 14 to one in 10 twist rates. If you have a one in 8 (AR or M variant) those rounds are going to explode on impact because they are rotating so fast. 😯 It’s going to wear your barrel slightly faster as well.

Bolt action good, semi auto bad… 😆

The PMC round is an in-between round, a 65-69 grain ball is the max for a one in 12 and does well in one in 8 and one in 7 twist rate barrels.

I am doing well with a one in 12 barrel with a 65 grain Sierra boat tail ball moving around 2800fps (sub 1/2″ at 100 yards with a 5-10mph wind) handloads.

I tried Fiocche brand in my pistols and it was shootin great.

I dont know about the Fiocchi brand, but my .22-250 absolutely loves 40gr moly coated V-Max boattail bullets.

I’ve used Fiocchi’s target/plinking 45acp and their sst tip .308. I thought that both were good values in the class, and both shot well in my guns.

I have tried it in other calibers and its some good stuff IMO

the pmc is dirty ammo fouls up the barrel to much for my liking
