Q:

EDgun, clean and reseason barrel?

Read a post that on the .25 matador that when you change pellets you should clean a reseason the barrel. Is this true on the .22 matadors? I want mine to shoot predator pellets but it just doesn’t stack them any where near as good as the 18 JSB’s. With mine shooting the 18’s as well as it does I really don’t want to touch anything. Any advice Ed or any one?

I did a little testing of these at different distances…. Would be ok up to
35yds.. Ok, maybe 50yds .

My condor’s poi changes/moves when changing from Kodiaks to Polymags? To me is a simple matter of turning the elevation/windage turrets from kodiaks zero to polymags poi.

When switching back to the kokiaks, just return elevation/windage turrets back to zero. Which will definitely prove the tracking ability of your scope. If the scope tracks poorly, you’ll be chasing the poi with your poa.

When I change from kodiaks to polymage, it takes a few shots for the polymags to change poi, you can watch the shots walk up and to the left of the kodiaks poi.

The Predator pellet probably means more shooting a .177 caliber than a .22!

If an 18 gr JSB slams into something at the speeds the Edgun produces, it’s going to hurt like hell.

The little .117 needs all the help it can get. The Edgun pellet goes wherever it’s pointed, and doesn’t ask permission to enter what it hits!

I know the predators won’t have the same accuracy as the 18’s, they are not a target pellet. Just thinking they could do better than the results I have gotten. I have put maybe a couple hundred down the barrel but have switched back to the 18’s. Yes poi was different too by a few inches.

I thought about exploring the same thing. I had my order all set for a tin of predators…and then changed the entire order to JSB Exacts. I read through the trials that the other guys on this forum had done re: Predators, and even in the best cases, the accuracy still wasn’t even close to the JSB 16’s and 18’s. Throw in the fact that the POI seemed to be completely different, and it was enough to deter me from even buying a tin of them. It’s shooting so well right now, I just have no interest in “tinkering”.

The way I see it, I did not buy a $1550 gun so I could have the accuracy of a springer. If it’s big, I’ll just shoot it twice. 😆

Pretty much any barrel, Edgun or not, needs a good few of the new pellets through it before it settles down.

it probably just does not like those pellets…stick to the ones the Edgun was designed to shoot…

when I change pellets in my Rapids it can take between 3-15 shots before the groups settle…no hard and fast rule applies

I never had good results from Predators in any of my rifles…don’t bother with them
