New barrel problem.

I just recieved and installed a 15 inch barrel in my talon ss.my typical shot string looks like this

796
453
793
469
456
453
454
454
461
464

I’m at 2800 psi and PW on 8. With these settings and the stock 12″ barrel I get 730 fps consistantly.Anybody know what the hell is going on ? 😕

Thanx everyone, looks like I slacked off on cleaning due to Bud

Lay off the pipe lol =)

Synopsys got me thinking, so after the Social D show last nite, I rem oiled the shit out of the barrel and lo and behold ! A 20 shot string-

low 767
high 798
avg 789

Thanx everyone, looks like I slacked off on cleaning due to Bud,bud, and giddy anticipation for my new barrel. 😀

Orings in breech tight on barrel. Working themselves in?

It seems to be working itself out. Latest string had one low power shot allthe rest were 770 + 🙂

Sounds like the breech is hanging up on the barrel, did you lubricate everything and what is the od of the stock 12″ compared to the 16″ at the place where the breach slides…

Besides the fit of the pellet it’s the only thing that could be different.

You did clean it after you got it form TT right? 😕 😉

I can hear a difference between the shots. I’m f-ing stumped as to what is going on . It’s a TT barrel, I’ll have to call Tony.

Think about this, All you have changed is the barrel, you probably haven’t even touched the hammer.

Check that the hammer isn’t hanging up on the barrel which would cause the low power.

But they are consistantly low hmmmmmm…………… I say chrony errors, can you clearly hear that the low shots are much quieter than the first high one?

Dave

I have gone back and forth with both barrels and get the same results.

check the tank. take out the 15inch barrel and put the 12 in barrel back on and see if you still get shots in the 400

Do you get a poi change with the low numbers (20yrds plus)? If not, check the chrony.
