.177 Condor
I tried it again. PW set to Zero, I did not touch the TH. I do not own a Feeler gauge. So I got off 3 Shots 1rst was 1141 second was 1150 and third was 1145 fps that is when my tank dumped it’s air on me. 😯 Kinda scary when it happens.:shock:
I was using my green Chrony to measure speed.
I figured if there was little pre-load on the hammer spring that the tank may not dump well lesson learned.
Can’t wait till I get my new set up from Marmot Militia.

well I shot my 177 condor for the first time on Co2 and it flung em pretty good for co2.
I do not have a crony ,(I know I know 😥 ) So I dont have any numbers yet . But field target needs to be under 20 footpds (I think)
which means a 177 8-10 gr pellet @ around 900 FPS (ballpark)
I would like to try Crossmans FT event in the spring with the Condor .
Hell I might even Tune my R9 and try it in the springer class too!!
so the problem is the lighter valve spring stays open with the added back pressure of the .177 and dumps.
had my condor dump one time,when i first got it after maybe 1000 shots. I about crapped my britches.

Love my Talon SS, lets see some groups and stuff , there is not much on here for the 177 condor , how did the reg change the gun for ya, before groups after groups.
What pellets you using ,all the good stuff, i shot 177 along time before the 22 condor. its a blast but i still think about getting a 177 barrel for it and playing around. i still have allot of 177 pellets around, and 3 -177 springer’s. but a 177 pcp would be cool.

holdover you guys get with me if your interested in turning the condor down for light pellet shooting i have some ideas that might work real well, i have turned the 14 grain pellets in the 22 condor , with condor valve and 24 ” barrel down to 450fps, so i was thinking this would work real good with the 177 condor also. i am playing with max vel in the 32g pellet right now 75 foot pounds and under an inch at 50 yards,, but after this i will play with 400 to 550 fps. in the condor with match pellets and see what i can get for accuracy buy tuning the velocity to the Match pellets.
My bad I thought that the .177 condor spring was stiffer. 😳
Talon/Condor valve:
th=0.070″, pw 4/8 fps=750
th= 0.080″ pw 6/8 fps=900
Talon valve:
th=0.070″ pw 4/8 fps=1070
This was in a Talon without a Condor hammer weight. The Talon/Condor valve spring felt a lot stiffer than the Condor valve spring.
If the valve doesn’t function properly with the Condor hammer weight I will let you know.
It’s funny, AF doesn’t list the mixing of the valve springs but PA has them as different items… Another thing to ask Monday…
Condor spring is lighter, so the valve opens easier/longer for high power shots.
I’ve read a few post that state the Condor valve spring is lighter.
It’s funny though, when I test my Condor valve and the Talon for Condor valve the Talon valve spring feels stiffer than the Condor valve spring…
I am assuming I have the Condor spring in the Talon valve because the brass nut behind the tophat has slotted holes (my stock talon tank has round holes) and it didn’t work properly in my Talon (velocity was all over the place) when my other tank was working fine….
I now have a Condor weight in my Talon so I need to do some tests…

I have a Etacreg and reg. and new bottle/valve, coming along with a talon frame. so problem solved.
Don’t go micrometer, go with a Talon valve with a Condor valve spring. 😉 It’s a stock item from AF and I believe PA sells them.
Or just remove the hammer weight and use a Talon tank. No difference between a Condor with the weight removed and a Talon setup except the chassis design.
I have a Talon tank and valve with a Condor valve spring I got through a mistake of Midway or PA, but now that I have converted to a Talondor it’s a great thing to have. Changing the hammer weight when changing the barrel isn’t that difficult but… 😆
DAMMMM! I wanted to try my Condor in 177 for field target shooting too
I think a micro meter tank might be the trick for me . but that and the barrel will set me back almost 4 bucks!!
I could buy a Talon in 177 for a little more , and I go that far I might as well get a TX for FT 😥
course then Ill need a FT scope and rings too.
this cheap Hobby of mine turned out to be a little more pricey than I thought !!
BTW POI did not change much. 1/4 inch
1145 FPS works out to be 30+ FPE with CPH 10.5gr.

My purchased as .22 x 24″ Condor worked pretty well with .177 x 12″ barrel after I re-arranged the added weight to the opposite side (front) of the hammer spring and cut the fill down below 1900 PSI air.
The only Tank DUmP I had was using CO2.
A loose fitting Daisy FN had flipped in the end of the barrel causing back pressure and an partially open barrel. NOW, that’s the way to do it ❗ ❗
I had about a 3 foot jet like exhaust out the barrel. When the pressure got down a little I was able to unscrew the tank enough to stop it short of empty. Still had some shots left.
