? Guesstimate on FPS w/ penetration test on telephone book?
Try to get a guesstimate of my pellet speed, tried using my crono, but I think I may be too close 5-6 feet. keep getting error readings. Can’t go out further as my neighbors are about ready to call the fuzz on me :-\
I’m shooting a modified gunpower stealth in .25 cal. 43gr. EJ’s out of a 21″ barrel. Previous testing with a 10″ barrel got me 800fps down to 699fps for 20 shots, this was before I modded the Condor high flow valve. Which was with the 34.9gr, EJ’s and got about 480-510pgs. of penetration in a dry phone book. Now i’m getting 1000+ pgs. of penetration, a sharp crack, and nosey neighbors. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I’m gonna give it a rest for now, just came back in from trying again, after 3 shot’s and many evil stares through my neighbors windows. I’d rather not push my luck.
that sharp crack is most likely the pellet breaking the sound barrier so you would be safe to say 1150-1200 fps try shooting it into a dirt pile and see if you still get that sharp crack… if you do then youre deffinatly breaking the sound barrier …Greg

LOL. when i first got my condor , and was tuning on it ever once in a wile it would break the sound barrier and dame i would shut the garage door and take a nice long break
