Q:

Pellet after it was shot through Edgun LW barrel <photos&

I fired into a 5 gallon bucket of water. The head did get denting a little from the impact, so just ignore the deformation.

We know that my rifle is accurate. So, perhaps these photos can be used for others who may be having accuracy issues to compare. I’d also like to see what a pellet looks like after being shot through an Edgun “new” barrel (the ones specially made for Ed) – mine is the “old” LW barrel.

It’s an easy enough “experiment”. Fill a 5 gallon bucket with water – shoot into it – recover pellet. My rifle was shooting 33fpe – so that is all I can speak for re: the safety of your bucket (I’m talking to you .25 guys).

Ted

Here’s a look from the top down. As expected, the rifling “scars” are barely visible on the perimeter of the pellet head.

Yep, I think so in both cases… More power, ugh ugh ugh….

Looks like the rifling in those .25 barrels grab more of the pellet, doesn’t it? Your pellet also got “squished” more by the impact with the water. 🙂

😯 Did it go through the bucket Mam? 😯

LOL, nope… I originally thought that Ted had shot through the side of the
bucket…. I didn’t understand that he had shot into it from the top…. I had to
get a ladder to do that…. It makes a big palooooop sound and just settles to
the bottom…

Here is a .25 out of the EDgun…..

3 sides

😆

I was worried about the same thing, but I pulled the trigger anyway. I used a 5 gallon bucket – filled to 3 inches below the rim.

I had the bucket on the ground, and I was standing on my deck in the backyard – muzzle was probably 4 feet away. Just make sure that you are firing strait down when you pull the trigger. 😉

How far away Ted? I don’t want the thing to go clean through the bucket..lol

The rifling mark second from the left looks like it has a line in it.

It would be neat to see all sides for reference. I think you may be able to get them all in 3 shots form the side…

Nice macro!!! 😯
