Alternative TSS washer/spacer design
After being amazed by the shroud internals on my EDgun (both in performance and simplicity) I set out to do the same thing on the Edge I just picked up. I know there is a pic on the forum of the edgun internals but my search skills are poor. Basically its a series of washers welded in place at ~ 45 degree angles like so /\/\/\/\/\/\.
I just made a run to HD looking for materials thinking I’d be cutting copper pipe and fitting orings and washers etc. Decided to try the poly tube. It was in the same isle as the copper, it’s black tube rated for household water pressure. It’s thinned walled and very easy to cut. I cut mine with a steak knife 😆
The 3/4 poly tube has an OD very close to 1″.
I picked up a 2′ piece for 87 cents. Already had washers.
Back on my bench I cut the first piece about an inch long. Flat on one end angled on the other, the kept cutting alternate angles. Dropped them in in the same order I cut them (so the angles would match up) alternating a washer between each and using plastic rod to tap each into the appropriate orientation. AWESOME results compared to my flat stacked washer spacer attempts.
I’m not pulling it back out for pics but I will take pics tonight as I cut and stack the same pieces for my TSS.
Note that I did vent the front bushing and the edge has more grub screw locations than other frames. Namely an extra in the bottom rail between the barrel bushings. It’s larger than any frame vent I would have drilled but it is there and I did not plug it.
I hope the results on the TSS are as promising as I’m really trying to get away from the shrouds. Too long for me.
These are both low power guns (the TSS is on CO2 at the moment) but I will also test with the air tank before I sell it off.
