Q:

new shoebox

well, i just bought a new shoebox compressor (#42 of the current run) from a guy on the AutoMag forum. saved a fair amount of money with no waitng!!! apparently he bought it and the gauge/filler adapter/ hoses then developed health problems, couldn’t use it and needed the money. claims it is unused and the pictures certainly look like it. i know you must frequently lubricate the piston shaft with white lithium grease- what else is of immediate importance? i have read the thread here and it seems like proper lubrication is the main issue. thanks guys.

I have #33 and have been using mine frequently and the only thing I’ve done is proper lubrication of the piston shafts, check the chain tension and added a whisper fan to keep the cylinders cool. And so far I have had no problems whatsoever. I also run 85 psi as my input to the Shoebox.
