Scent control and cover scent
How many of u hunters use and believe in it?
Its like a second religion to me. I see deer almost every time i go hunting.some not always close enough to shoot but i still see them.

Jackrabbits are hares, cottontails are not.
Big difference.
Rabbit is relitively small and compact.
Hare is a big mofo, fudging great legs and ears and roams the open fields, whereas rabbits habitate close to the warrens/hedgerow etc.

Hare is VERY gamey in flavor, rabbit not so much. Don’t care for either though.

Mostly rabbit, hare,pigeon,crow.
Occasional deer, but thats once in a blue moon.
Only have a ticket up to .22lr, and you’re not supposed to take dear with that. But if I hit one accidently, whats a guy supposed to do? 😉

I wear two layers of clothing. Top layer of camo that I never wash and is generally covered in mud and cow(oops sorry Akula- CATTLE) shit, and an underlayer of clean light clothing.
And of course always stay downwind of the target.
If you come hunting with me, best to bring a nose peg. 😆
i don’t hunt from stands. it’s all spot and stalk and still hunting, then i try to move in keeping the wind in my favor.
they do sell body wipes also for ppl who do the overnight thing and just keep the spray on the clothes its hot here and i sweat alot just the short distance to my stand so i have a bottle in my bag that i spray down pretty heavly with scent away is made to kill the bacteria that causes bad smell
its calles scent away/scent killer made by wildlife research and it does work i get mine from wal-mart its cheaper there than anywere else i can find it
Do you ever go out overnight, or for multiple days? What do you do after the first day?
Most of the places I’ve been going require a hard hike in, and I sweat a lot. So by the time I’m actually looking, I’ve already generated enough sweat to create a lot of smell. and of course the second or third day is worse. I try to pay attention to the wind, but winds change.
I need to pick up some scent free bags. Will regular plastic bags from the cleaners work?
Spraying the inside of the clothes sounds like a good idea; I wouldn’t have thought of that.
i wash my clothes with scent away. i also store them in the scent lock bags. I will shower with just water if at all. What I like to do is get some doe urine and soak one of those swabs and tie it to your boots before you start trekking through the woods. also if I have some of the scent away spray I will spray down the bottom of my boots before entering in. but if you are in a tree stand I wouldn’t worry about anything but noise.
