2240 new breech vrs old breech

I am sort of new to the Crosman pistol thing, I have a resealed 150 and wanted to play with something more modular.

I purchased a factory refurb 2240 from Randy @ RL for the sum of $40.00. I then ordered a steel breech from Crosman and a 18 inch barrel that seemed like a good deal off the Yellow.

While reading the Crosman owners forum, which I don’t seem to be able to register myself with, I found that the 2240 was revised and a new breech incorporated about 2006. The screw holding it to the frame changed locations, it is now about a 1/2 inch towards the breech end, and the cocking slot was made longer to allow the bolt to clear the new breech screw location.

I sent an email to Crosman, who has not shipped my breech yet, telling them to cancel because I have the older model and I assume the one they sell is for the new model. I will recheck with them tomorrow during busines hours.

Question is, does anybody make a metal breech for the old model? Crooked Barn does not indicate a new or old model, nor do any of the other sites as far as I can remember.

Does anybody sell a new tube with the hole in the new location?

Has anybody run up against this problem?
