Q:

LW .25 cal. bore dia ?

I ordered a crown cutting kit from Brownells. It is due here Thursday. The mandrell is .257″. Anybody know what the bore dia of a LW barrel is?

I am thinking that I will have to turn the mandrell down to fit my .25 cal. Edgun Matador.

It ain’t easy being sleazy! 😆

From what Woody have told me, the bore diameter is 6.30mm in the standard callout.

Hey Oldgoat, I’m surprised that you don’t have a lathe at home. I guess that it is easier and cheaper to let the company buy and install the expensive equipment.

Walter, I can sneak the mandrell into work in my pocket. A 22″ barrel wouldn’t fit too well.

Long story short, where I work would freak out if I was caught bringing a rifle barrel into work.

I plan on taking early retirement Feb 2011. Sept 2010 is a little too early! 😆

If you can turn down a mandrel why not lathe cut the crown?

Dunno but I have the .251 surefire slugs. So it maybe .25. They also have a .258 which I’m guessing would fit the .257?

That would be the wrong mandrel even if a PB as the bore is 0.250″

LW don’t know, but for sure won’t be 0.257″

An easy way to check is to slug your barrel….just use a tight fitting pellet and push it all the way through your barrel with a cleaning rod or similar and measure it after you push it out…Greg
