Q:

AAS510 now showing on Pyramyd Air

What’s the difference between this and the AAS410 besides the ambidextrous stock? See it on Pyramyd

Good looking gun but the price is terrible. Didn’t see anything it would do that my Sumatra wouldn’t do as good or better. A lot of people are over looking a great gun in the Sumatra. You can turn it down and it is about as quiet as my Talon with 21″ barrel. Turn it up and it screams. I love my Airforce and my Sumatra. Just can’t make up my mind witch is best. Air Force if you want to work on it. Sumatra six shot if you want to shoot. Wouldn’t want to get rid of either.

The S510 has a different trigger group housing, but the internal parts of the housing look identical to the S410. (nice that the S510 is available in .25, maybe .20 will come too)

Also, consider the carbine size depending on what the purpose of the rifle is. The Carbine is lighter in weight and a shorter package, especially if you want to add an additional moderator. Some of the S510’s come with “green” hunter stocks, looks better. The carbine CAN be upgraded to a “Classic” air cylinder for something like $80 if you need addtional shot capacity, OR a regulator can be installed which typically go for $100.

I have a S410ERB Xtra FAC thumbhole in .177, and a TDR in .22, been keeping an eye out for a Carbine to expand the family

Hoot’s right, there are many great airguns available. Select one from Pyramid…if you don’t like it, send it back. Consideer the return shipping a rental charge.

I think that the AA carbine, or a .25 Marauder is a good start. Why get a .22 when you can have a .25? Just a thought.

I have a .25 Condor is the primary. Plus it would be a fun toy =) I’m thinking like a 20ft/lbs maybe. With a wood stock. Basic two requirements.

Nice AA Hoot your old Edgun is still shooting better than me 😯 I did get a shoebox and got my tank filled and ready to go just waiting on some time off to shoot! If I want to eat though work is got to come first, been getting some jobs so this is a good thing 😯 I like the Air Arms line of guns probably a carbine I don’t like real long guns that is why my Air force has an 18 inch barrel on it perfect for the Airforce gun IMO, You still been shooting braches out of your trees!!! Hoot 😯 😯

Being the proud owner of an AA S410 Carbine, I can understand SteveinLA’s comment…the wood is BEAUTIFUL…B-U-T it is expensive and yes!! you do have to be careful for fear of scratching, denting, dinging that beautiful wood !!! Hell, I had a $350.00 (hand-made to fit me) custom stock for mine…but I had it made for MY enjoyment..not necessarily to look at..so it does go squirrel hunting if it gets damaged well that’s the way it goes..I try not to worry about it..I bought it MAINLY for the fit, not the look. AA is known for accurate guns…but so are many others !! HOOT’s comment (above) pretty much sums it up..there are so many GREAT guns out there now that everyone should be able to find “THE” one for them. We that live in the US have got it great, cause we can have ALL the power, no restrictions, and have more choices than probably any other country in the world…HELL YEAH ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗

Looking good hoot! I still can’t decide. I don’t have a .22 pcp so I want to fill that gap for sure. I kind of want to try one of these high end jobbers. But I do like fat chicks 😆 What’s a boy to do???? 😆

Well said Hoot. I would only add that our pellets are pretty darn good also.

I was very pesimestic about my Marauder when I bought it. I was thinking Rapid, but Cygnus X and his experiences convinced me to try the .25 Marauder. I am sure glad I did. My .25 Marauder is an exceptional value, in my opinion. It shoots better than I can. When I miss, it’s my damn fault. But I do pretty good with it most of the time. Oh, and the .25 Preadtor pellets fit in the magazine. 😉

Your right Hoot, we are very fortunate to have such a great selection of airguns. While I am not a big fan of springers, we also have many really great choices, (Hi Rob, thanks for demonstrating the accuracy potential of springers for us).

Here’s the thing….today’s market offers so many selections of pcp rifles and pistols, that are both affordable and quality built, no one need go without a deadly accurate, powerful airgun.

Crosman has cornered the low end market with the $389.00 Marauder. Both power and accuracy that exceeds the expectations, and shooting abilities, of most shooters. With a $12.00 barrel…how is this possible?

The Koreans are well into the middle market with their Evanix line with fpe/fps to meet any need in calibers .25 and .22.

The high end market is almost unlimited in cost, quality, and performance.

The interesting factor is most of us can only shoot so straight, even with a bench rest, and there is plenty of pcp power to drop any critter we don’t use a firearm for. Money no longer has the influence on those two factors, as it used to. Be it $400, or $2500, you can buy a multi-shot rifle that shoots as straight as humanly possible, and with equal knock down punch. All of these rifles exceed most shooter’s ability and needs.

It’s a good time to be in this sport. Just think….as little as two years ago, this was not the case!

Hoot 😯

NOTE: The above remarks do not include the inhuman shooting abilities of Ted in Madison, whom I am convinced is not of this planet, nor does it include the Edgun, which is simply in a class of its own for design, quiet, simplicity, premium cost, and single shot performance. It’s the only one of its kind.

The AA stocks are nice, but they are $1,000+. I totally disagree with you and RC. I like my Marauder stock. I bought that gun for less than $400 delivered. My .25 Marauder has performed very well to say the least. I further appreciate that I don’t have to worry about scratching the stock. Mine is a great airgun. 😀

I’m having a hard time warming up to the S510’s stock. I find it’s lines really strange. That being said, it’s easy to warm up to any powerful, straight shooting rifle. Thanks for sharing the pics. I’m looking forward to seeing, or hearing about the havoc that you wreak with it. 😉

Actually I’m torn between this gun or the marauder. I think this will win just will take longer to save for it!

Sound is the big difference I noted on the S510. Accuracy is dead on with the AA, LW barrel, and I’m averaging about 40+ shots at 3/4ths power on the power adjuster, with a 2900 psi fill.

I added an aftermarket moderator, and now I can shoot the S510 at full power with no noise other than the hammer slap and pellet impact. Any good quality add-on should bring it down to Marauder levels easily. At low power, about 14 fpe, it is just dead silent, except for hammer slap. I have the carbine at about 36″. With the moderator it’s about 42″ and light as a feather.

The stock on the Marauder is a 4X4 rough cut log compared to the AA wood. It’s just that simple. The Marauder is as much fun to look at as a fat girl with pimples in a donut shop.

Concerning fpe between rifles. The AA is hammering out some serious accuracy, with 18.5 gr JSB, and around 32 fpe+. If you need more than that, you probably need to get an Evanix at about 40 fpe and have a LARGE air supply on hand.

There is a huge difference between the Rt handed model and the ambidextrous model. The Rt handed model has a cheek swell on the Lt side as you would expect…however, on the Rt side of the stock there is a concave depression that prevents the stock from being used on that side. The Lt handed model has the same problem that it is a dedicated Lt only stock. It is best viewed from the butt end of the stock when looking forward.

The ambi model has the swell on both sides.

I would love to have one also, but it does not have the power I am looking for, for me bottom line is 950 FPS with 18 gr Exacts.

And yeah Pab what’s with equating Brittish currency to our fine rifles, you just think you can do that because it is a Brittish airgun? 😛

Regards,

Roachcreek

Quid? really Quid? lol 🙄
how much is a quid in $$USA

Really?? I thought it was showing about 100 quid more here?? 😕
