Edgun – Getting the Lead Out – Inlead not centered.
I typed this all up really nice-like. Then when I hit submit, the Talon forum opted to insist that I log in again, and consequently deleted all my words. So, now you guys get the [much] shorter version.

While doing a pellet-sorting experiment today, my groups suddenly opened up significantly. Guess which group I’m talking about. It started on the 17.9 target, as well.

So, I ran a few dry patches through the barrel, and lots of lead shavings came out.
Patch 1

Patch2

Patch3

The next three groups after cleaning can be found in the first photo
– Above the 18.2 target
– Below the 17.9 target
– Below the 18.0 target

The only way that I would see the rifling stripping lead from the pellets, would be if you were shooting at stupidly fast speeds like Mach 2+ and the pellet was skipping over the rifling.
One thing that Ive noticed from the pictures and I think someone has alreadt touched on, is that it looks like there isn’t a smooth entry into the rifling, looks like it is going from smooth bore to rifling instantly that sould be “Shaving” off the rifling marks on the pellets not “Forming” the marks into the pellets.
Thats what I can percieve anyway
