Winchester 190?
i shot my wincester 190 today and it shot ragged holes at 50 yards using shooting sticks. I was using cci standard velocity ammo. i was wondering what standard ansi dementions means when it is used on cci high velocity ammo. And i was wondering if i could shoot them out of this old gun. Im not going to risk blowing it up. But i would like to use them for hunting if posible.

Call Winchester or a local gunsmith, they should know.!
There are three chambers I know of for rimfire .22, Short chamber, long rifle/standard hunting/plinking chamber and the “Bentz Target chamber”.

Remington subsonics cycle but aren’t much quieter then regular .22lr. I tried rapi fire and one subsonic jammed but the standard velocity cycled fine.
HV 22lr should be ok for your Winchester 190, but the HV .22lr will not be as accurate as the standard or sub sonic Velocity ammo. The sub sonic may not cycle the bolt, don’t use CCI subsonic!
