DE-PINGER
I saw this on the yellow and thought it was interesting ,and figure I repost here for the guys that dont go there much .
its about the de pinging the tank . They say the air wave in the tank causes it to ping , but this guy claims that useing a IV hose has solved the problem by breaking the wave of the ping .
Sounded good so I posted it .

Interesting, but it’s not necessary to go inside the tank to deping it (for AF guns anyway). Since the energy is transferred into resonance all you have to do is dampen the vibration by redirecting it. a tube will do this but why take off the valve when you can have something external?
Vibration dampening rubbers have been around for a long time. The archery industry makes extensive use of this stuff.
For me it’s easier to slip a couple of dampening bits between the frame and tank to achieve the same thing.

Sorry SS, a little late on reply. When I used a compound it was the Matthews stuff on an LX and a rubber/aluminum stabilizer and also string dampener. Now I use a Tenpoint crossbow with the bowjax kit.
The pieces I use on my Talon SS are leftovers that weren’t required on the one I have. There’s a video showing the difference between Sims and Bowjax dampeners on a pair of limbs in a fixture. It’s amazing, the Bowjax limb stops oscillating in about a 10th of the time. The leftovers are like soft H channels meant to fit on a split limb. They slide in perfectly between the frame and tank on each side if the V.
It’s not a big deal to take em in/out when filling the tank and if I forget to replace them the ping reminds me.
