Q:

Look at what Fed Ex brought me today fellas!!!!

…while I was busy destroying my QB79 drop block in an otherwise exciting M4 DISCO CARBINE build (in retrospect I forgot to have my coffee, thus I am blaming it on “magic bean” detox). After taking the now useless block and throwing it across my garage I heard the familiar squeel of abused brake pads that only those big delivery box trucks make and my frown slowly turned into a smile.

It all started a few weeks back while shooting my Jack Haley .457 at the range. Patience was never one of my virtues so I knew that if I was going to keep this rifle in my stable I would need to do something about the need to refill after one or two shots, and besides, I am slowly but surely turning into a long range junkie—wanting to push the limits—with my .25 AAA condor and my new JH .457(as well as a few other rifles).

What better way to achieve “shot to shot” consistancy than a “field tank” topped with a creme de la creme regulator from Joe Brancato! I’ve talked (tire kicked) with Joe many times in the past and he was always willing to take the abuse in lieu of making a sale. In my book, that is a good man—worthy of my hard earned greenbacks.

Not only did I get first grade service from Joe, but I lucked out and received an upgraded Stainless regulator that he was going to keep for himself. Joe explained that had he not sacrificed his personal (brand new) reg I would have had to wait some time for the brass one to come, so he offered me the stainless upgrade at no extra cost. First class all the way!

I have not had a chance to try it out yet, and with four kids and one on the way God only knows when I will get that chance. One thing is certain, when that day comes (hopefully soon) I am confident that I won’t be disappointed! Thanks again Joe!

Edit….Lazy Ass
WOK 😀

Lookin good Joe really nice set up, I know it pays to get what you have in the long run, it will outlast all of us 😯

Nice!!!

Two words HOW MUCH ?

The reg itself was $345.00 (That does not include the hose) I got the 5′ hose, the Din 300 valve and an 06 44 cf tank…all for 810.00 shipped.

Thats nice Joe !8-)
The Big bore will still rape it in short order. 😯 😆

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been wondering? How many shots will I actually get??? No matter how many shots I get it beats only two!

THAT is a really sweet set-up…now-what’s the story with the QB79 tank block…why is it useless???

I came up with a way (don’t know if anyone else has done it before) to add a little support by using barrel band:

…and I decided to add one more screw for a total of 3. I made sure to drill and tap it on the “proper side” you know, the side where the airway ISN”T! Well, between my headache, kids fighting and screaming, phone ringing four times in a matter of minutes, etc. I somehow flipped the block around when I put it in the vise and yes, you guessed it, I drilled right into the air chamber 😥 😳 🙄 😈 Last night I purchased a new one 👿 😡 [/img]

PB, yeah, that is the idea. I need to get the e tac for my .25 condor. I am mostly a “paper puncher” so this will come in handy.

CP, I wonder how many shots I will get from say an 88 CF tank with my big bore. I don’t know the size of the air tube on the gun, but I will find out. I believe it drops around 6 or 700 psi per shot. Ideal shot pressure should be around 3700 psi.

As for the AAA .25 condor, man, even with the smaller CF tank I have I might need a C 130 to airdrop me some ammo. I will just run a healthy 30 shot string once I get the E tac to see the SD….

when shes filled up id like a FULL shot string

NICE

Oh man 😯 , that is what i have been thinking about for a long while 80,

take that bad boy and hook it to a etac with fill nipple and adjust the output to what ever regulated pressure you want.

I have really thought about this, because i really only need the precise regulated pressure for fine target work , so hook that up on the bench and instant adjustable regulation. 😀

That might be the only accessory I have always wanted…. Congrats 80.. That
will come in really handy..

Believe me, it was a hard decision to make. Buying this put off my future Edgun purchase by at least another six months…but I figured I could use this to help enjoy what I already have.

Okay WOK..I get the hint. I suppose we sometimes take for granted how “liberal” TAG is when it comes to putting links to other sites…I guess that’s why this is my favorite site 😉 I had a MOD on another site get his panties all in a bunch when I put a link to another site. It’s the side of this hobby that disturbs me 🙄
