Plastic Gears? Really……
Most of you guys likely know this, but I didnt 😕 Plastic gears in my mini lathe? I loaded it up pretty good boreing out some brass hammers, and well you know what happened 👿
One thing about it installing the replacement metal gears it has been a real education. If anything else goes wrong I’ll be able to go right to it, any deeper into the lathe I’d been looking into the alloy in the steel.

I had a TZ350. Was lusting after a TZ750 until I decided I could continue to live a coward, or be a very courageous racer and dead. Powerband was quite a bit narrower on the TZ than your RS, I’ll bet. This was old school, no reed induction 🙂

had an aprilia rs125 35hp 2 stroke racebike….it had plastic gears inside the engine
plastic is not all bad….usually it breaks before something bigger and more expensive break….they should be cheap to replace
that sucks , probabaly cheap to get new ones , i think all the parts are easy to order .
. i have 2 machines with plastic gears , one is 12 years old at least . an still ok . for now …
