Q:

Pabs Barrel get’s a chop, and my new High flow valve :)

Well, Pab has got tired of his fishing pole long 24″ barrel, and asked me to cut it down to 19″

And here it is, I still need to turn the bushings whilst on the barrel to true them to the bore but basically done.

And here is my new High Flow valve, basically the main design is from Cygnus’ big bore valve he posted here but tuned down a bit for my .25

Dave,

You need to test your valve with Jerry’s slugs 😆 😆

Very nice machine work Dave.

Very nice work!

Walt, the only dies I have got in small size are crap quality and won’t cut a half decent thread.

The thread was single pointed as the first operation to maximise rigidity of the work.

Dave

Beautiful work Dave.

Do you thread the stem with a die or single point?

Look forward to your results with a heavy hammer and spring..

Walter…

WHAT!? 😯

Anyway, my hammer and spring isn’t strong enough to open this valve at proper pressures. But at only 1400psi, Im shooting JSB Kings at 1020 fps for 58 FPE…….. Imagine on a 3000psi fill lol

Nice work Dave. That valve looks sweet!

Dave,

Yes, I have kept in contact with RJ on this, and I appreciate you working it to its full potential before you send it.

Roachcreek

Looks nice Dave keep us posted always interested in a new design that one looks interesting 😯

Im still working out some kinks with RJ about the stem port designs, the previous valve was getting about 950fps with 32 grain eunjins if I remember correctly.

I put that lower down power to having a less than perfect fit between the stem and valve body, the air coming up around the stem, and slamming the valve back shut after hitting the larger surface.

That stem was made for a valve body that I already sent to him. A further valve is about to go out to him that should be the final iteration 🙂

Dave

And I do belive you are all waiting in line behind me, right Dave?

Roachcreek

Cheers, once I have tested the design fully to make sure it works well, then I might think about it.

But at the moment my gun still isn’t up in action (And hasn’t been for about 2 months) so I want to get my rig up and running to start with.

Thanks

Dave

That valve has some balls, are you selling them?

Yay!!

Lookin’ good 😎
