Tired Beeman R8
I have an old Beeman R8 springer. This is from when beeman only made quality rifles. Its still a tack driver, but has become a bit under powered.
I was thinking on sending it in to beeman to to have them rehab it, but then got an ides on changing it over from a springer to one of those crossman or theoben nitrogen pistons.
So my question is: Does anyone know if it would work, How I could get one the correct size/length/strength, and who san do the work of installing it correctly?

Thanks. I’ll give him a try. Found his site before, but it seemed that there was only a spring kit for it.
Send it to John in PA , if he cant put a gas ram in it He will put in a macarri kit ,trigger work , re- crown the barrel .Belive me he’s good .
If they dont make a gas ram for it , a macarri kit is just as good .
You can find John on the Diana forum , just ask for him , and he could answer your questions better than I can , Hes pretty quick too , had my 350 back in a week and it shot like champ

Thanks, but they dont offer the R8, and its a spring kit. I was wanting to replace with a gas piston.
You want a vortec gas ram kit for replaceing the spring correct?
They offer drop in kits you do yourself or you can send it to vortec or you can send it to a good tuner. John in PA did my 350 magnum and he did a hell of a job on it . he’s a good man.

Yeah, you need to talk to him to see if they have any that will fit . If any one would know he would.
I could be wrong,but Im guessing the R8 and R9 internals are same,
so you may still be able to get it , but your going to have to check with someone who knows for sure
