Q:

laser designator nd3 thoughts

Hi,

Just wondering if there any good and interested in thoughts from over the pond to get an idea of what options you might have. This is the only one in its type im aware of, are there more out there?

Been looking at alternate devices like adjustable laser pens as from what i’ve read thats basicaly all the ND3 does.

thanks in advance

Fair comment Hoot, money better spent on some external Wok fittings me thinks.

I think this type of night vision devise is more suitable for firearms distance, since you can focus the beam over distances much further than PCP can reach.

To me, it’s not worth $300 for a tricked up flashlight. If I shoot at night, it’s generally because I don’t want an audience, or the game is nocturnal.

Either way, I’d get an IR scope for about the same money and keep my shots down to 100 feet.

If I were hunting coyotes at 200 yards in the desert regions, that’s a different story entirely.

Thanks ted,
I’ve got a laser, lamp and scope with ir function so pritty much set up for night shooting but i like the idea of them and droping the lamp for space and weight. I like my gadgets

The ND3 works more like a flashlight than it does a laser pointer. It has an focusable laser. The goal is to “spread out” the beam to about the same distance as the field of view of your gun.

I think Mamcrackin has one….or maybe it’s oldgoat I’m thinking of. When I was in the market, I couldn’t pull the trigger on the ND3, and opted for a Coast Tactical light (T7) instead at 1/4 the price.
