.1 Mil Rad adjustments vs 1/4th adjustments
I have never dealt with or heard of .1Mil Rad adjustments anyone know how they would compare to 1/4th adjustments?

With a 1/4″ its 1/4″ at 100 yards, so you have to figure the distance, then make adjustments for that and then convert to mil dot….
I plan on my next good scope being one of those. The dots are basically useless for anything but range estimation without it. I don’t want to have to do math in my head for adjusting. 😆
Ah the hell with all that!! hold over a couple mill dots and pull the fucking trigger and watch it jump LOL 😆

If you have a FFP mil dot scope its easier to adjust if you have milrad adjustments… as you can see where your pellet/bullet hit, and if its 1 mil dot away, and your scope is .1 mil rad adjustments you move it ten clicks….

It’s 1cm per click at 100 meters. Standard for most scopes made by swarovski, zeiss and schmidt and bender. It’s easy if you think in meters and cm’s but might difficult for thos used to yards and inches.

Basically .1 mil clicks gives you 10 clicks to move poi exactly 1 mil @ 100yds or 100m, which is exactly the distance between 2 mildots. The numbers on the scope turret is whole mils and the hash marks are 1/10 mils
Milliradians are a measurement of geometry and can be calculated in either metric units or inches. The distance between mildots is universal and I believe is 3.375 inches. Sometimes rounded to 3.4inches.
1 mil is equal to 3.375 inches @ 100 yards, so .1 mil clicks equals to .3375 inches @ 100 yards. Or .1mrad equals to 1cm @ 100m.
Or .1mrad clicks equal .34moa 1/3moa @ 100yards. Either way ‘3’ .1mrad clicks equals 1in @ 100 yds
After all is said the end result is you have a scope that the turret clicks matches the mildot reticle. Most scopes in airgun use have 1/4moa or .25 moa turrets mismatched to a mildot reticle.
The turrets should be matched moa turrets with moa reticle or mil turrets with mil reticle. Which really means nothing to us airgunners. but for the powder burners range finding for 300 to 1000 yds shots. the math has to convert mildot measurement to moa clicks, thus causing more/lost time to complete/lose the shot. Which is most important in LE/Military use.
Some scopes use a un calibrated mil reticle and are considdered 1/4 IPHY.
Which means the turrets clicks move poi roughly 1/4 inchs per 100 yards, but the clicks are never ever the same?
When ranging with a .1 mil scope, you don’t think in inch/yards or cm/meters, or converting mil’s to moa clicks, you simply dial up/down the clicks needed and SHOOT…!

I belive your refering to 1 miliradon or 1 mildot.
There is a formula for useing mildots to range targets , I forget off the top of my head height of the target in inches x27.778 dived by the number of mils will give you the range to target.
I have to double check that.
The 1/4 simply means 1 minute of angle (4clicks) at 100 yards = 1/4 inch
So what does that mean? It means you must determine your bullet drop at different yardage,
ex:
your zero is 30 yards . unscrew and ajust your knob to read 0 once your zeroed in at 30 yards tigen it up.
Now say your drop at 50 yards is one inch
and 70 yards is 2 inch and 100 yards is 4.5 inch
record all that down in a book try to memorize it as your holdovers
now do it over again and record how many MOA its takes to get on target at 50 yards maybe 2MOA or 4 MOA and repete it for all your ranges .
You will now have a dope card for your gun where you can read that it takes two MOA to zero to 70 yards or 8 MOA at 100
ect.
I dont use the mildot for rangeing , because my math isnt so good , SO Ill estimate my range then dial it in , or just hold over if its a fast shot.

Phew!! After that fuckwit reply from Holdover, I thought it must be my imagination that 4 clicks on my 1/4 moa scope moved 1″ at 100 yards, not 1/4″ 🙄 😆
