100 fpe, .250 or .257?
My Talon P is just screaming for a longer barrel and cast bullets. I’m thinking it will do close to 100 fpe with a longer barrel around 18″. I’m wondering if a standard LW barrel or a TJ .257 would be the best choice? Only thing with the TJ is I’d have to get someone to machine it and the LW could be preped by me.

A 257 to me is better suited to more power than what you are asking for.
So for 100 FPE, i would take the 251 and shoot Jerry’s slugs. They are super thumpers and i sure would love it if he made some in 257 😆
You would want a barrel with no choke.
I don’t trust LW barrels any more. I have a unchoked .25 from LW and it measurses .25340″ so I have to size down .257 slugs.
I have a TJ’s .25 barrel and it measures .25030″. So Jerry’s .251 slugs are perfect.

So, no to the LW? Get a TJ .251 then I have the option of Jerrys or Hunters supply .251’s or a custom mold.
Doug, do you have time to machine a barrel any time soon?
