Q:

100 yard group

I got out today to shoot the extreme big bore in 45, I have not got to do much shooting with it yet to see what its capable of and I’m still getting used to it. But here is a group shot today so far the best I’ve done with it. I’m shooting the lee real bullet sized to 457 in 250 grain, using a 3600 psi fill I tried higher pressures so far and found I get one real high then two that drop closer together so I lowered the pressure and got two that hit real close together and a third shot that falls off.ty quickly.

I really like this rifle so far, I do run alox for lube on the bullets, after I cast them I tumble lube them let em dry and size them no additional lube used after that. No lead in the barrel so far so I must be doing something right. All my lead is range lead so im not sure about hardness.

That stock Steve is really really nice!

Steve,

Fine looking rifle and group. Did you lube the bullets?

JD

Gorgeous rifle Steve.

And that is minute of Elk, deer and hog for sure.

My Ranger and Haley do the same thing, two good shot and one that fall off at 36 to 3700 PSI.

This is the Haley for three shots at 280 yards. So you see your on the right track.

Just learn how much higher to hold for the third shot just like you would do in some wind and they will all fall in together.

Steve,

Damn she is gorgeous sir! WOW!

That grouping you describe is typical of a gun making such power.

What a few people have done with MUCH success is to fill to a lower pressure like 2500 psi and shoot 3 shot groups again BUT this time, on low or medium power.
