Q:

100yd groups with .25 JSB heavy mk2

Hola, amigos. I got the chance to shoot a few groups at 100 yards today with my Edgun. A few months ago, I bought some of the JSB Heavy mk2 pellets hoping they would perform. They’ve been pretty accurate in my backyard pest sniping, but I’ve never actually grouped them on paper until today.

Here are two of the better groups. I don’t remember what happened with the first shot but it was probably grip related… The gun jumps more noticeably with the HST cranked up to shoot the mk2’s @ 830 fps. I haven’t shot for groups in a while so I spent a considerable chunk of my hour and a half at the range ‘rediscovering’ my baby girl’s preferred grip pressure… Anyway, the next four shots went into 0.69” ctc.

Five shots into 1.08” ctc with four into 0.79” ctc. Bottom shot was prior to scope adjustment.

And, here’s a shot string with the Edgun Chrony from EdgunWest. Seems kind of ugly… I’m going to try to get a repeat next week with my prochrono. But assuming the Edgun Chrony is working as intended, what do I need to do to fix my string? Is my HST too high for my current reg setting?

Give me some time. I will post full results

What you need is more air. I have used the Huma with some success because the internal Belleville washers are removed when installing the Huma regulator. More pressure does not always equal more speed. Sometimes the increased pressure will lessen valve dwell time which in turn will lower the speed of the projectile even though the regulator is set higher. Plus you risk the valve breaking because you’ll have to smack it with the hammer pretty hard. I do not believe the standard will achieve the foot pounds you seek and still give you a nice consistent speed.

What speeds have you been able to achieve with the Huma regulator? Is the Huma as consistent as the Edgun reg?

Hmm, do you think turning the regulator up to 135bar would get me to 830/840 fps before going over the first curve? How much louder would that make the gun shoot?

Yep the HST is over tensioned. It looks like you are working on the second peak of the regulator. The sweet spot for the 25 standard shooting Kings is 900-930, with the best spread being closer to 915

The gun is a standard. Here’s 9 shots with regular kings from 190bar – 170bar. I can’t remember what the gauge read after the mk2 string, but it started at 210bar and ended somewhere around 130bar.

Can you show me a string with the kings. I don’t need to see a full string just one mag worth. Also is this gun a long?
