Q:

103.37 fpe with a 22!

WAHOOOO! I FINALLY DID IT! After a ton of tinkering, parts, tank dumps, frustration and money i finally got success! The cf fill tank and cf talon tunes tank capable of 3600 psi fills were the final peice to getting the slugs up to the speed needed to do it. So here is the final set up to do it.

22 cal condor, power spring, 95 gr hammer with slap mod, ttqc top hat wide open, tt cf tank, 24 in barrel, 45 gr .218 1e nose slugs and a .027 washer under the top hat with the power wheel at 0/0. There are alot of other parts added for cosmetics and to stiffen the frame but the guts are listed above.

With a fill to 3600 psi i launched the 45 gr slug at 1017 fps for 103.37 fpe! Chrony was about 4 ft from the barrel and it drilled my backstop. Got the whole thing on video in normal and slow mo. Will have to wait till this weekend for videos we are working stupid hours right now. I only had about 10 minutes so could not put a 50 gr across the chrony today. Maybe this weekend. We will see.

Man i am pumped! I owe a big thanks to john at pellet gareden, tony at talon tunes, doug and rsterne, tri 5 ron, salticon, drig, and im sure a couple more for all the steering when i had questions and ideas when i was stumped plus and for making all the bad booty parts and ammo!

Great, now that i hit that mark whats next!

I would like to try a variety of extreme valves for my condor. Right now I love my Texan and it eats all the thousands of homemade bullets in .457.

My condor is definitely a great gun to mod and I am tempted to get into .257 but really want to know how much it compares to .308 and .357 kits. I found a new hobby casting a variety of bullets and would like to even sell off my other bigbore airguns to fund an omega compressor.

No he is using that exact COPY of my valve from India.

Thanks gents.

I am using a stock condor valve with talon tunes qc top hat wide open. The key was getting up to 3600 psi. I was topped out at 3400 with my hill pump cause I did not want to blow the seals in my pump. Got hooked up on a sweet deal with a cf 4500 psi setup and now filling to 3600 psi.

I use slugs from pelletgarden.com its a guy over on the GTA that gos by johninthecamper, he makes any slugs in any size, nose, boat tails, what ever. I spent several hours on the phone with him and a few others getting things right and learning a lot. I have tried 40, 45 and 50 gr in 22. the 45 1e nose baby boat tail are hole in hole at 40 yds as long as I keep the pressure up and keep them moving over about 920 I think it was.

Sirjigo, you are running the r&l valve on a 22 cal with no issues? May have to look down that road again. once I get done with a few other projects.

I cant wait to see what the 50 gr slugs do at that pressure.

Wow that’s amazing! What valve are you using? I use the extreme valve and it made my condor into a new gun.

Do you cast your own bullets? I wanted to get into .257 but if I can find a good bullet mold for .22 and sizer then I may stick to my current setup.

Cool keep us posted :8:
