120 FPE with the 25 LBT AirSuper today

I like that, perhaps that name will stick.
I messed around with fill pressures, I honestly have not done mcuh with it since cutting the coke off and seeing an incredable increase in accuracy and consistancy.
So this eveing after getting back from a mini vacation with the wife at the coast, I shot some bullets from a 3000 PSI fill, down to see what I got for velocity.
Low and behold, the .82 wire is not opening the valve fully at 3000 PSI, where it gives me 90 FPE, the next ten shots start off at 115 FPE go up to 120 FPE and trail down to 110 FPE.
Not bad for a light carbine that is shorter than a stock Condor overall.
Accuracy ranged from .25 to .60 at 35 yards for 5 shots.

I cast some more bullets last night and sized them today, then I put .040 of shims under the rear base and sighted in. I can now dial the little 2×7 Burris Fullfield to 260 yards.
I tried a different lubing and sizing method, I lightly sprayed with moly first and then sized to .256. Those bullets are such a precise press fit now as the enter the lead.
This is the first 5 shot group after sighting in, .44 @ 35 yards. Cutting the choke off this barrel I got from Tagdagger has been such a improvement.
BTW anyone want to buy a 1.5″ LW choke?
THis was shot at 120 FPE or 970 FPS 57 grains.

The velocity drops because the power stroke on a longer hammer is shorter. It gets shorter still when you add more preload by turning up the PW. Its like a 4” punch vs a 12” punch.
I have the airarcher spring and hammer too, and basically my own design extreme valve, I have often thought of maybe cutting the spring, because like 0 powerwheel and when I go up with the powerwheel the velocity goes down, strange I say, but that is what it does.

Funny that is what mine is doing. I have also changed gauges on my fill probe, so I am getting more of a fill now. I think that the reason the edges of the string are so sharp is that when your using so much air the pressure goes down fast.

I am using a Airarcher valve retainer and valve spring and derlin seat. A 95 gram bore rider hammer that I cut down from a 125 gram hammer. The spring is from a Airarcher kit and I cut it down so that it could still have room to compress with a powerwheel whcih the Airrcher does not use.
I have a 17 inch barrel with the choke cut off and the lead opened up to take my bullet I cast from a LBT mold that casts out to 57 grains I have shot it at anywhere from 850 FPS/90 FPE to 1045 FPS/130 FPE, which was from a 24 inch barrel.
It has been a months long project.

Mine shoots stronger the more I put air in it cause I backed the valve spring retainer off, but I did have it before turned in where 3000, was one slow shot then it took off and was very consistant and powerful for 15 shots and average over 100fpe with the 6 ring slugs Jerry sells.

i am using a 95 gram hammer, Derlin breech, but I have shortened my .81 spring to allow the use of the PW.

Something is not right there. The spring in my .308 is .081″ and it opens a lot larger stem seal all the way to 3400 psi. I think my .25 is a .078″. What are you using for a breech? Nice accuracy though.
