15 min at the cattle barn
Wind died down around noon so I fired a few shots to be sure I was on. Don’t need to be hitting any steel siding on barns. Then I headed to the cattle barn to do some shooting. Took a starling off top of barn at 78 yards, measured with my range finder, but he fell right into the cattle pen. ๐ Then wife called and had to go……I’ll be back tomorrow

Don’t those 338s draw blood at both ends? ๐ฏ
Ville, I’m looking at a .338 right now to buy. My buddy has one and it’s a killer..

Coda I’ll be out there 2nd week of June. I’ll have some pictures to post when I get home. If it’s anything like last year we better take 10,000 rounds…… :4:

Its the tops here at the moment. A standard is really close to the top too. ๐
It’s crazy but where I am going PDoggin’ in two months is in a 14″ blizzard today and 14 F degrees. Their normal high right now is 50 F.
I see you like your Baby Bug too. It sounds like the greatest backyard plinker of all times to me.
NICE !

Attaboy! My PB cabinet has space for Sakoยดs and Tikkaยดs only. O.K – for a couple of Valmet-shotguns too … Would Sako make a Bullpup iยดd jump on that in a heartbeat though … ๐
Iยดm waiting for my FAC papers for a Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .223 (and a GRS-stock for it too) and will have a Sako TRG 42 in .338 Lapua Magnum before the Fall. :geekn:
Ville, I have a Sako Finnbear in .22-250 I bought in 1975 or 77. It’s still one shootin somebitch…. :4: I’ve had offers up to $800 and up for it.

I was watching a group of sparrows about 60 yards when this rat came out. Had to take him first. ๐ Ever since the weather has gotten nicer the birds haven’t been as thick at the cattle barn.
We have LOTS of woodchucks around so that’ll be my next target.
Coda, nice looking rifle. I’m sure it’ll shoot better with the right hand load also. You just have to find it. My Remington 40X .22-250 will shoot fly size groups at 100 and 3/8″ at 200 yards. Can’t wait to smack some dogs in Wyoming….coming soon. :4: At least you have the right channel on……

Nice shooting Zonk. I’d be really proud if I could muster a rat. Looks like cricket is up to the task too.

I just put the free Aeon 10-40x50mm scope on my new Remington 700 SPS Varmint 223 heavy barrel 26″ and sighted in it with hand loads. This is my best group at 200 yards (scope set at 32x). Only three shots but about 1/3 MOA. ๐ They are old 50 grain Sierra Blitzes I had loaded about a decade ago. I have a thousand of them. 3200 fps. Someone bought the gun (for $650) and traded it back in three weeks later for a 308. It was never shot and I got it for $500. With the right hand loads its should do under 1/4″ 5 shots groups at 100 yards with ease.
Whoa you got rats too? My grandpa used to have them in the corn crib but I just don’t see many anymore. Great shooting.

That .338 could come in handy against those roque Sparrows – at 1500 yards or so. ๐
