Q:

.177 condor hiflo switch barrel to .22?

HI! I am writing from India and have a condor .177 24″ bbl shipped from topairgun enroute. Since Indian Govt. only allows .177 airgun import via post/courier I thought that at a later stage I will have someone get a .22 barrel over and swap it for more powerful shooting. I have the Hiflo tank in the .177 – Now since I am totally new to the condor system but quiet intrigued by the mods and the flexibility of this system I would appriciate if anyone who has done this /know if changin the bbl to .22 will give me adequate performace or will I need to change the air bottle /air bottle valve or any other part to ge tthe power of a stock .22 condor?
PS: I have a FWB p700 which is a competition grade PCP and I also have a hamerlli co2 again comp. gun …..we do have springers here in .22 local made ones which are no great shake 😉
I hope to learn a lot from your experiences here and having so many ppl. here gives one confidence that even in a far off country one can still interact and get better support thatn any company would provide.
Thanks
Dipy

The barrel change will be all that is necessary for shooting .22…
I suggest that you try to find .22 cal JSB 15.9gr or 18.1gr pellets
before investing in a .22 barrel….The rifle will also be very loud without
a moderator on it….

I have my Condor set up as a .177 and I have a 24″ .22 barrel for it as well. Using the 16 gr Eun Jin pellets, it has quite a punch. You can remain legal (which I always find a good idea) and still have a powerful air rifle. What can you hunt with an air rifle where you live ? The .177 may be quite adequate for your purpose. I like to shoot .177 for several reasons; pellets are cheaper, if anyone wants to know what I’m up to, I show them a tiny .177 (7.9 gr) pellet and it doesn’t look very threatening. Sometimes when I go to the range, I find myself next to a guy who has a big, loud powder burner that he can’t shoot very well at all. When it happens that my tight little group of tiny little holes is so much smaller than his big ole group of big ole holes, well, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside… heh heh heh
