177. Veteran?……..
I found this on a Russian air gun form.
Low & behold a 177. short Veteran Taipan. :suprisedn:
What gives? 🙄

I looked on my Veteran it does not say mk II on it.
And the above gun does not have Veteran on the side.
But still is a nice puppy. :biggrinn:

Our friend mughram ……

Talking to a few of the importers of the guns,
It was pretty plane , People wanted 177 Crickets , 177 Vulcans, and one other 177 gun,
Well they got the guns and had to set on them for a long time to sell them as just no demand….
Now this is just what I was told,
Now I did turn down a 177 cricket short just because the price was jacked up,
Hind sight I should have sucked it up and bought it,
I think I am going to see if I can have one built buy John or Earnest,
The Veteran 25 would make a bad ass 177
or course it would have to be tuned down a shit load to 980 FPS,
Not sure if that bad SOB could be tuned down enough to shoot a 177 at 980 FPS.

I hear ya amigos…… :biggrinn:
The Brits like bullpups, but they are set at 12fpe.
Canada, they can’t have any bullpup air guns, I’m pretty sure.
Or maybe they have too be so long in length.
But it’s not like they can’t make the .177 Taipans they have the tooling set up for it at one time. Maybe it’s because they are a small company, & it too much too made all three calibers at once.
But hey even the guys on the other side of the form, are saying that, they really did not make many .177 Vulcans also.
Not even sure if they are selling them also in .177
I’d really like having three Taipan shorty’s in .177, 22. & 25. :angrymob:
Rowdy
Even Canada has some limited power levels on there air guns,
If I lived in Canada or the UK , I would be very very good with a sling shot, Ever seen what a marble can do at 25 yards to a bird, Or even a can.
I wonder if they have laws on sling shots , Restricting the rubber band size?
Now in Old Mexico there is no laws restricting air guns that I know of, BUT If the local Police like your gun they can take it , And there is nothing you can do,,,
God Bless the United States of America
Its not perfect, but Trump is working hard,
Mike :2cents:
Yes the UK does have some really limiting power level’s there. Had to understand why too, when you think about it!
They can have silencer’s on stuff there, no problem. But they get into issues with pellet rifles with any kind of real energy! Doesn’t add up to me… Lucky for me I don’t have those restrictions…
I feel for those blokes too, it’s so much more involved when you bring the energy into the air rifles, and especially the pcp’s… I am sure they would love it much as the rest of us here in the US…
foxback
Yes , In the UK the 177 rules , But them blokes do not like Bull Pups? They got some very strict laws on the power you can have in a air gun.
Back in the 60s 70s 80s the 177 was king,
Dr Robert Beeman Talked to me over the phone and said the 177 was the most accurate pellet made , I was convinced there was no better pellet , Until I jumped into the area of the PCP guns, All I can say is wow from then on,
Mike
tsakula….
I just don’t understand, why they don’t sell the .177 Taipans.
Isn’t the .177 the most popular pellet? 🙄
OK ladies
Straight from the horses mouth,
IF AND WHEN, again I will repeat ,If and when the Veteran 177 is being made, R&L would need at least FIVE prepaid or nonrefundable deposits
On the guns,
Now there has been a couple hand built converted over to 177 caliber,
If the cost could be kept down to a couple hundred bucks , I think the Veteran 25 would make a kick ass 177.
Hey John PM me what the cost would be????
Mike
Mug,
You like the scope mounted that high up from the center of the barrel? Now me, I like mine as low as I can get it.
I have yet to shoot something in air rifle mounted that high that I didn’t have issue’s, how far do you have yours zero’d at? Yours look awesome.
we have Taipan mutant 0.177 mutant shorty and standard in Kuwait
the standards has more shot count over 120 shot @ +900fps in 10gr
as for my self i have shorty 177 and standard 22
i have convert my standard to 177 to try out heavy pellets in 177
now i’m shooting 177 @ +900 with 16gr JSB… i’m attending to try different kind of barrels ( used CZ 480mm unchocked ) piledrive 21gr not good and JSB16gr seems alright but looking forward for better results
my shorty shoots +60 shot @820fps in 10gr
recently i have received CZ barrel in 350mm i haven’t try it … i like the origin Korean barrel doing good with my shorty here is sample @ 50yard
2 groups each full mag ( 12 pellets ) JSB 10gr
glass : Falcon M18 FFP

Yes I’ve often thought, that at any time the Taipans could just one day dry up. :suprisedn:
Coming into the U.S. hope that day never comes around. :confusedn:
Low & behold a 177. short Veteran Taipan. :suprisedn:

Just noticed that this says made in Russia and not Ukraine. With the war between the two, not sure how it goes about.
That’s a nice shot count.
I found some more .177 Taipans, enjoy…. :biggrinn
Both standard Mutant in .177 :biggrinn:

I get 80+ shots from my .177 250b to 148b H-789 L-757 A-777 ES-32 SD-6. I’ve got mine turned down some cause of the area I shoot in. I think a .177 Veteran would be the icing on the Tiapan’s cake. Mine’s great pretty much my to go to gun from 20 ft to 40/50yds.

Yea, but if I lived in Kuwait
I am not sure I would want a 177,
I would be thinking more like AK 47 , AR 15 and land mines , May be a 50 caliber machine gun on the top of the house,
Mughram
I have talked to you before , And I know our American news reports lots of lies and false crap, Or camel dung.
We got a President that is trying to fix the news stuff.
I bet you can get pretty cheap Mutants and Veterans over there.
