Q:

18" Barrel Bushings

Replaced my 12″ barrel with a 18″ LW and noticed the rear bushing has no o ring and the original OEM set screws are too long. The screws are 10-32 so I shortened them and rethread them. And I guess I’ll have to chuck the bushing in my lathe and cut the o ring groove. Anyone else experienced this? Both barrels are LW and the 18″ is from Pyramid Air. Also the front bushing is not dilled for air flow to help in sound reduction.

The Talon P with an 18″ barrel is called the Escape.

do you have a picture of you talon p with the new barrel?
i would like to buy one but waht about end cap?there are no problem with it?

Had my head up my ass. Barrel sticks past the frame (DUH!). Don’t need o rings. But I drilled the front bushing anyway. Made a frame extender out of exhaust pipe and freeze plugs and am happy with the results. That extra 6″ sure jacks up the velocity. Gotta get the chrony out and really check the fps. Of course if I had an extra 6″ it’d jack up my velocity too!

None of my bushings have o ring grooves or o rings. I was not aware they had them.

Hi,

When I replaced the 12″ with the 24″ barrel I kept the same screws. The 2 side ones stick out maybe 2 threads, but nothing major.
The bottom ones go below the dovetail rail so no issue there.

Are yours sticking out a lot more?

With the 24″ the bushings don’t need the holes as the muzzle is off the frame, but if you endup drilling those bushing for air flow and sound reduction, I would be interesting to know if it helped on the 18″ barrel. I might buy one of those too, soon.

Cheers
Chris
