1st time using my SHOEBOX 4500 psi compressor (pics/video)

Yeah the best you can do is dry the air going into the shoebox as much as possible. You will still get moisture and need a hpa dryer to get it breathing air dry. Haven’t noticed any moisture in the condor tank(visually verified)
Very true Steve. I am seriously a beginner in this endeavor and i don’t know how much MOISTURE is getting into the tank either. To me, without photos or video PROOF of the interiors of Scuba tanks after using the shoebox with filter, i don’t know were all this info is coming from.
I set up that SETUP the way it is because i figured that would be enough to keep all moisture if not at least MOST moisture out. hence the filter.
One of the things that i like about the compressor so far is that the CF tank stays very cool during a full fill.
So i wonder how much if any mositer gets inside of a scuba tank. Might have to ask Tom kaye about this. After all, he invented this thing so he should know better than anyone.
Water is in the form of vapor. So, it’s suspended in the compressed air. Much, but not all, condenses on the interior of the shop comoressor’s tank.There’s still an amount of water in the form of water vapor that is going into the Shoebox. The dessicant water traps that you guys are placing before the Shoebox is a major step in the right direction. It may even be adequate for our purposes. I’m just wondering what the moisture content of the final high pressure air is? I am curious if there will be enough to rust the inside of an airgun resivior and valve assembly? I also wonder if there will be any water in the bottom of the tank that is being filled?
Many years ago when I used to scuba dive, I was always surprised at how dry the compressed air was. It would throughly dry out the inside of my mouth to the point that I would rinse my mouth with sea water several times during the dive. That was some dry air.
Again, I think that Tom has designed a great tool for us in the high pressure airgun world. It is exceptionally good for those who live far from a source of HPA. I recommend the Shoebox to anyone who asks about hanp pumps. A Shoebox isn’t that much more money than a good hand pump, but is a much better value in the long run. 😀
I would assume its cause LESS water or moisture will reach the filter cause the line from the shop compressor is in an ELEVATED position so whatever moisture there is, i will fall back down to the shop compressor.

How will placing the shop compressor on the floor minimize the moisture in the air?

Trust me, i’m very jealous of you and have been for a while now. Not jealous but, ADMIRE, is the word. Wish i had the skills and time like you do to machine and tune guns and turn these condors into masterpieces. 😎

Looking good!!! That thing is awesome ain’t it!!! You should get some more hose and put the shop compressor on the floor so gravity will help keep the water out. Also if you want you can use the bleed valve on your fill gauge to release pressure.

I have a similar but not as neat set up lol
I would not mess with the regulator on the compressor. I just unplug the quick connect that way my regulator is preset all the time.
I also leave the guppy tank valve closed then turn on the shoebox. After the shoebox pumps a few seconds I open the valve on my tank. I noticed the shoebox works harder when I opened the guppy tank valve first.
I too use a fan , I placed mine closer to the shoebox and off to the right. It keeps the motor cooler at the same time. Again awesome video and the shoebox with the guppy (carbon fiber tank ) seem to be the ticket to unlimted air. I charge my gun after a few shots (when guarding my bird feeder lol) Really good video and shows the set up nicely good narative also.
