2 pellets at once??
Years ago when my buddies and I terrorized the neighborhood with our pumpmasters we routinely shot 2 bb’s at once..we never had any pellets.. 😆 many a woodpecker fell prey to our double load..after I got a little older I used to shoot 2 .50cal round balls from my muzzle loader..talk about some know down power..the deer doesnt stand a chance..well I thought I would try it with my talon.. 🙁 talk about dismal at 45′ one pellet would be 3 inches low the other 8-10″ low i’m trying cp’s 10.5 grain ..not sure which one hit the closest but they sure dont do as well as when i have tried it in the past with other weapons..any of you ever tried it? thanks!

That was at just under 25 yards if I recall… The shot was aimed too low but still got a lot of hits.
Different shot but the same range.
I made a small “shell” to hold three BB’s to shoot from my talon and had good results out to about 30 feet before the spred got too big (still only about a 4″ group) when and if i get my comp. fixed i will post pics..
Air shotguns have been a reality. Joe Brontrager makes a big 20 gauge and delivers a few hundred FPE. There are also smoothbore Crosman uppers done by DAQ and then the Korean 201 air shotgun. Farco makes a CO2 shotgun with decent energy. Crosman had the 1100 many years ago and Gamo has a Viper shotgun now, if you don’t need so much energy. Can use a metal tube with a lip as a shell or just rolled paper. Make “wads” to stick in either end of the shells and hold the shot in place.
i did the same thing when i was younger but i used 3 bbs. i and i am with you about just one gun, i to would have a shotgun, they are about the most fun guns to shot, one of my more memoral experances was oo buck shot and all the old paint from my uncle. we had about 10, 1 gallon cans and shot them for about 15-20 feet, it shot paint 40 feet into the trees but for some weird reason we got very little on us. he wanted us to dry out the paint to despose of it, so we spread it out the easy way. we usually spread it out on plastic to dry. also many of car have seen our fury to junk yards really look at you funny when you bring in a car with hundreds of bullet holes in them but they are about the funnest targets.

An air-powered shotgun. That’s an interesting concept. If air can push a .50 cal bullet to lethal velocities and FPE, why not a handful of bird shot?
You’d need to figure out some type of fragile wadding that keeps the shot in the gun until you pull the trigger, but comes apart after leaving the barrel. Tissue paper or the like, perhaps?

Haven’t tried it, but if you take a shotgun approach, you’ll get shotgun results.

I have done a lot of testing using 2 and 3 pellets in my .25 condor.
2 Kodiaks = 1-2″ apart and 3″ low at 30 yards. A 5 shot group (10 pellets) would usually be about 2.5″
3 Kodiaks exactly the same, except about 5″ low, group size around 3″ (15 pellets).
2 Silver Bears 2-4″ apart, group size around 5″ around 2″ low.
3 Bears, 2-5″, group 6″ and 4″ low.
2 EJ 42gr 3″ apart, and 6″ low. I did not shoot many of these, I was running out of them at the time.
At no time did I try to chrony the shots.
I did kill a squirrel with a 3 Kodiak load once at 20 yards. It was pretty much instant kill. All 3 pellets hit, 2 in the head, 1 in the neck and it just flipped him end for end.
Best group was a dandy 1″ group at 30 yards, 2 Kodiak at a time 10 pellets total.
I didn’t do it much though, most of my shots are too long to reliably hit what I am shooting at. If your targets are 25 yards or less, give it a try.
