Q:

20 MOA adapters?

Been thinking that when I finally get my Burris XTR 8 X 40 scope and CondorSS .25 , that I may need to get some sort of “compensated”, 20 MOA, mount for shooting over 100yds.

Anyone else using a compensated mount for hunting or shooting over a 100yds? I’d really like to hear everyones feedback.

Hopefully this is the best place to ask? If not moderators should move it!

Thanks, Rick

Finally got my Burris XTR in my hand yesterday and dug out the UTG 20MOA mount I had sitting around. I am going to have a make a cheek riser to get a proper sight picture. I thought 30mm mounts were expensive, 34mm are outrageously expensive! The XTR at 40X provides a very narrow field of view but clear picture!
I’ll sight in tomorrow with my CondorSS .25.

Don’t have an Airforce but have a Taipan Veteran .25 with a built-in 20 moa rail. That 20moa and my Athlon Argos with IIRC 10 mils of turret travel gets me out to 200 yards. From there I still have what, 9 mildots holdover…

hum, a lot of old timers are long gone doing other things Rick.
When I bought my Condor SS 25 cal I was basically alone here ………. did all the research/search myself.

I tuned mine to shoot Kings 25g @ 920fps, shimmed the back ring to zero @ 50 yards and could shoot to about 150-200 yards max without the need to turn the turret.
If I where to get into shooting cast bullets past 200 yards then maybe a 20 MOA rail would come in handy IDK.

With the 20 MOA rail as you may know you may need to shim at some point or except zero where it falls at Optical zero.
If not I’d get the FX no limit to get right on the zero you want.

Tofazfou was a advice poster here on TAG and don’t recall him ever using a 20 MOA rail ?

Let her rip !!

Really?
No one is willing to tell me about their set-up?

I think people with AirForce rifles have internet herpes and no one wants to talk to us! Quite a few new people asking questions and none of the veterans will to help? That’s crap!

About ready to give on Tony’s site and find help on other forums, but this is “THE” Airforce forum to go to!

Yes I do optically zero the scope by rolling it in a set of precision ground V-blocks I use for milling.

Digging through all my airgun stuff and I found two UTG 20.1″ Compensator mount and a 10″ Compensator mount.

Think these will do the trick once I get the CondorSS .25

Dang, I had no idea of there existence …….. I’m learning something new ….. even as today, I’m out of dovetail usage since selling off my 2 AF guns years ago.

Cheaper on Amazon though …

Also, I like/prefer to Optical Zero the scope and adjust mount to zero within a couple of clicks……

Just asking how many people are using a MOA mount to shoot a 100+ yards?

Rick,

It depends on the Airguns they’re shooting too, dovetail or Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913 rail, or Standardization Agreement 2324 rail).
As u may know the Picatinny side is filled with AR stuff … ….. … .. .

But on the dovetail AND AF (Airforce airguns) side of things I’d think u’d have a really nice niche going ……. ….. … .. if, but I can’t be exactly sure ?

Love …… … and … . . love to see and support someone how is going balls deep into it though.

I’d do a TAG (Airforce airguns) poll and see if there’s a desire for u into digging deeper…………. Sir.

Other than that FX makes No-Limits rings for dovetail rails as u may know.
