.22 cal bullets for a condor?
ever since i got my condor to work properly, i been very curious about testing it with heavy bullets instead of pellets. Ya know, those long, heavy, solid, pointed slugs.
I remember reading somewhere, that using heavy slugs, extends the effective range of a condor to about 250 yards!!! 😯
Anyone done this? if so, can you share the results, and maybe tell me where i can get such bullets?

Benzin, I think what you would get in the end is just “pain in the thumb” trying to seat 22LR bullets in your Condor barrel. Like the other members suggested, used 10/22 barrels are easy to find and CHEAP and you will have the correct twist rate to stabilize the bullet. Have fun experimenting and do report your results. 😀

And check http://www.rimfirecentral.com/ for barrels, I am sure that you can find an old Ruger 10/22 barrel for cheap. Also Green Mountain sometimes sells their seconds (miss cut extractor and what not) by the bucket.
22LR barrels are cheap enough that it would be a good project to try out. Heck, you can probably find a billion old 1022 stock barrels around since folks change those barrels out all the time.
Just out of curiousity, any one knows how much a .22lr bullet weights? im guessing about 60grains???
40gn solids usually, and less for H.P. normally says on the box. The propper way to do this is to fit a profiled .22LR barrel cuz the tightness of the regular condor barrel will reduce your fps.Good Luck

Tofazfou pulled .22lr bullets and got real good results…
That’s correct: only use lead bullets and not jacketed as the copper is too hard and will possible damage the rifling if used longterm. I haven’t tried this myself personally, but a few have and the results are okay: nothing spectacular but acceptable. If you can easily get .22 in lead then give it a go and report back to us. They will be very tight to get into the barrel though, kind of like the pellets that PelletMan used to make, so you may have to use a tool to seat them.
Thanks! thats interesting! specially since i can get .22LR rounds quite easily! but, is there any risk of damagin the barrel rifling or something? i assume i can ONLY use non jacketed bullets (lead only) right?

Pulled bullets from a .22lr will work but will be very tight in the Condor’s barrel as an airgun .22 is smaller than a powderburner .22.

Thanks for your ideas guys, however that idea about getting another barrel (one froma firearm) is out of the question for me, because i dont live in the US, and in this country, firearms are VERY VERY regulated!. so i dont think ill be able to get one.
I will however experiment with pulled .22LR rounds, and ill let you know how it went.
