.22 JSB Exact
I thought CP’s were cool, until the price went up. I finally ordered some JSB’s to test in my talon SS (with std. 12″ )
I shot them in the house at paper and they did well. Today I quickly ran 5 over the chrony after a 2800 fill. (outside)

😮 I didn’t think my stock TSS would move a 16gr. pellet that fast!
At $12.99 for 500, If they are fairly accurate I will have a new pellet.
I added the numbers to chairgun2 and it looks like it will be great pellet choice, and it will extend my range a bit over the 14.5 CP’s
I was reading somewhere where someone said that the lead is softer in the JSB’s than the CP’s.
Does anyone know if this is true?
If it is the case, then the JSB’s might expand better, transfer more energy, and create a slightly larger wound channel?

Yep, they packed mine in a 5 tin box as well. but no other packing in that same box. The outer box was well packed. the 4 tins were allowed toe bouncy and slam around in the 5 tin box, to the point that one of the tins opened and spilled all the pellets out. the other tins crushed them. That and the inside of the box is dark Gray with all the abrading between it and all the pellets. almost none survives out of the one tin. The others were badly dented on the tins, and many, many of the pellets had badly defromed skirts. At least they weren’t crushed like the spilled pellets. I’ll check the packing slip to see who packed the shippment before calling!

Mine were shipped on 7/10 packed by RL. The 4 tins were wrapped with stretch wrap and placed in what looks to be a 5-tin box. Then placed in a box with bubble wrap. They made the trip out to CA, and survived pretty well. (I guess I was lucky this time)

I just got another shippment from Pyramyd air friday. Sadly, they were badly damaged in shipping. I’ll have to give Pyramyd a call monday. I hate to have to do that.
I also recieved 4 tins of the new preditor. I kniew that they came in a new tin, but didn’t know they were different physically as well.
They weight the same, but are roughly .040 longer, with slightly thicker skirts.
I jsut shot a 50 yard 1/4″ group with the Pred’s. Much better than I expected!

I’m sure you’ll find they’re great pellets. Virgin lead, dead soft (CPs are alloy, intntionally hard). They epand well to fill the bore (dents in the skirts usually don’t matter) even if it’s slightly different size (something the harder CPs have serious problems with).
They end up being one of if not the best in ‘all’ my guns. From under 500 to over 900 fps. Just keep ’em subsonic.

I shot a few JSB’s just the other day and forgot just how good these pellets are. I guess I’ve been lucky not getting a large % of bad ones. I’m waiting for Mac 1 Tim to get some more in stock next month. Very consistant, very accurate, nice wieght. I’d go as far to say it may just be the best choice out there, along with Kodiaks.
Really looking forward to the new “Big Boy” pellets as well.
Back when my condor was .22… and when it was really a condor, I used those. Didn’t use them long, gun was just too powerful for them, and they were supersonic. But, if I dropped down the power and pressure, I could shoot them. They were extremely accurate. Great pellet for sure. I don’t recall ever having a problem with deformed pellets. Maybe one or two a tin, but nothing special.
The only CPs I have used are the cheap ones that come in the tin, rather than the box. But of those and the JSB. The JSB is a softer lead. They’re also a lot more consistent in every aspect. JSB do transfer energy well, at about 850 fps they’ve completely penetrated the body of a loon at 60+ yards while creating blood red water trails at the same time. I just ordered some in .177 for my lower powered guns.
Got two tins in yesterday and have been inspecting and weighing them as time and energy permit. No problems with deformation and weights are within reason; much better consistancy than CP’s. Most weights grouping within a couple of 10ths. Haven’t had a chance to shoot them yet.

I bought some and 90% of them were deformed so I gave up on them. Their skirts are way too fragile.

Hi all, i have a .20 Talon & also uses jsb’s (13.7gr). The cp’s (h&n barracuda’s 14.???gr) is too small and causes problems as it keeps on falling out of barrel. Must say i don’t mind using the jsb’s in my gun as they work gr8. The Talon launches them @ 930fps and very accurately for a total of about 50 shots / fill.
Would love to have a .22 shooting jsb’s @ that speed.
