Q:

22 or 25 Condor

I was thinking of a new Condor in 22 or 25 cal. I shoot paper and squirrels and other small varmints. I was leaning towards a 25 with a 18″ barrel,& tuned with a schroud from Talon Tunes. Will it be quiet and as accurate as a 22 cal.? What do you think ? Been gone from the site for a while, so out of touch with new stuff.

Thanks
Glenn

Problem I encountered when I considered using a 12″ .25 barrel in my .22 Talon SS was the tank with a Talon valve is somewhat underpowered for a .25 pellet. And the hammer weight in the Talon SS is too light for a Condor valve if you upgrade to a tank with a Condor valve.

Get the one or the other and get the other barrel.

Get a shroud for a .25.

Now you have both guns.

That’s the cool thing about AF rifles.

See how much money you saved?

Personal preference

i keep my 22 condor turned down to low 900 ‘s with 14 grain pellets, for up to cat size critters with side head shots between ear and eye, and paper, see no need for the 25. but maybe one of these days.

but the beauty of the condor is you can have both, 😆

.25’s are something to behold. more fpe at a given velocity than .22, and they retain that better over distance. the down side is that you won’t be able to purchase pellets at wally world, or your local sporting goods store, online only. at least that’s been my experience, so far. and yes, they are just as accurate, maybe a little more so, because they tend to buck the wind better. i haven’t tried them myself, but, from what i’ve seen posted, the polymags are devastating and extremely accurate in.25.
