I think once you have a .25 you desire shooting it more and ammo is more expensive though, and a .22 is plenty enough for general hunting.
For the money I think the .25 is twice the gun.

I wanted the .25 and still do. Several years ago getting back into airguns bought 2 .177’s started reading the air blogs and the next thing you know the .177 is too small really? needed that .22 to hunt and make real kills. now still read the air blogs and need that .25 to hunt large varmints.

Match the caliber to the Hunt Don’t hunt tweety bird with a .25 or hogs with a .177 unless you have a Gamo…………………….?

I’m still waiting for my .25 Kodiaks, much more scarce in the availability department.
Evidently a big demand for .25 lately and everyone ran out, stick with the 22 for easier supply and options.

.22 ammo is plentiful and comes in a wide erray of wieghts and shapes….

I have Talon SS’s in both… You don’t need the .25 for birds or squirrels. In fact, I take the pigeons off my roof with a modded QB79 in .17 cal. The .22 will easily take jack rabbits at reasonable distances. I got the .25 for song dogs…

.22 is plenty for what you’re planning on, and you’ll be happier than cherry pie when target shooting and plinking as well. Lower $ for ammo, and a bigger selection of it too.

When it comes to .22 vs. .25, here’s an analogy… I think back to the ’69 GTO I had in high school.

400/4barrel/400 turbomatic trans w/ slapstick… all stock. Paid $550 for it in 1978. 😯

In first gear, it was like getting launched off an aircraft carrier. Cruising on Woodward Ave., NOBODY except the dual-carb heavy mods and the occasional 455 could beat me off the line.

I could’ve put a tunnel ram and a new cam on it and taken it to the extreme, but I didn’t want or need to. It kicked ass just scary-fine the way it was. And the heavy mods had to spend more money for racing fuel or octane boost, when I could just pull up to the pump.

Comprende?

😉

But wait… I expect there’ll be a .25 owner out there who had a street/strip Chevelle SS or Mustang who’s gonna chime in and tell me I’m BS… and that’s cool by me! 😆
