Q:

.22 to .35 Cricket Bulllpups soon available in Netherlands.

http://www.kurversschietsport.nl/nieuws

This guy is a genuine dealership in Holland. He says he will have Kalibr Cricket Bullpups in .22 to .25 caliber, ranging from 1200 to 1500 Euros (synthetic vs. Walnut stock) by Fall from the Czech Republic, where Kalibr is shipping its parts for assembly and export. He is putting together a “waiting list” for those interested. He said shipping to the U.S. should pose no great problems.

Here is a translation from Google:

Kurvers Shooting – Russian!
Calibration is the “other” Russian manufacturer of fabulously powerful and accurate shooting air rifles bullpup; their bullpup called the Cricket.

Until now, the Russian rifle builders struggling to sell their products and export. This is due to the stringent restrictions in Russia for air weapons: up to 2 Joules (two!).

Calibration is now to “Europe”: the parts remain in Russia manufactured, but are then assembled in the Czech Republic and continue to trade.
That is going to cost savings and the prices are therefore expected to be considerably lowered. Key is surely that the regular supplies what can go smoothly.

Of course, such a new structure be organized and that takes time. I’ve just had a message: the first batch will be delivered about 2 to 3 months. I expect the appearance rifles in September of this year in the Netherlands to have.

Although prices do not go as low as I already had few close geroeptoeterd, they are expected to remain very attractive and “low” to call for this top quality.

The following variants are provided:
Bullpup in plastic flask, shot in .22 and 14 to 40 Joules; price is around 1200 €
Bullpup in plastic flask, and 12-shot .25 at 80 Joules; price is around 1200 €
Bullpup in walnut butt, shot in .22 and 14 to 40 Joules; price is around 1500 €
Bullpup in walnut butt, shot in .25 and 12 to 80 Joules; price is around 1500 €
Bullpup in walnut butt, and 8 shot in .35 and 250 Joules; price is around 1800 €
Carbine walnut cob, in .22 and 14 Scottish and 40 Joules: price is around 1500 €
Carbine walnut cob, in .25 and 12 Scottish and 80 Joules; price is around 1500 €

A rifle butt in walnut and in and 8-shot .35 and 250 Joules is conceivable, price is not known, but I estimate at around 2200 €.

The synthetics flask is made of black plastic, has a “tactical” look and offers space for 4 additional warehouses to store.
The walnut flasks are of the open or “skeleton” type.

Pictures will follow as soon as possible.

Once the exact delivery times better and with more certainty be known, you can use this site and make your interest clear-if desired-for-subscribe to the first batch.

He has an interesting website to visit. It looks like the Russians are finding ways get merchandis out of their country at last.

185ish ft-lbs… Backyard friendly? Would I be able to fire this at 3am or maybe more for daytime hunting? None the less this will be interesting, time will tell.

I don’t really consider the .25 to be a back yard friendly pcp. It is too powerful! Mine was bouncing lead off of hardwood trees. Sound wasn’t an issue because Subssonic built me a dead quiet 12″ moderator that was unbelievably effective, but a ricochet is impossible to control.

I would never recommend any of the .30 caliber pcp’s to shoot in town, or next to another house. These are field guns…period.

😀 Hoot’s right on with room and market for all. I’m sure not going to have my name taken off the list for a new R3 25 Madador, 🙂 do wish I’d get a note from Tony to send money. But I sure will consider putting my name on the list for a 25 Bug Gun….. 😉 too.
Just when I think our government could not get anymore “fucked” up I remember Ed and what he has to put up with. So I guess to cover my bases I will get on the Bug Gun list too.
Ed not to worry. I was in the custom rifle building business for several years and there are a lot of buyers out there that do not think twice adout spending their money for quality guns. But like Hoot said not everybody is lucky to have unlimited funds to spend on toys so it’s great there is a growing selection of products out there for them too. Room for all if we could just get the idot politicains out of our way. 🙄

I still don’t see anywhere on the horison a rival to the .25 Matador Standard I am expecting to arrive soon.

😀

Ed makes a valid point. Quality is expensive! Quality is difficult to mass produce. Quality gives value for the money spent.

I’ve never bought the best of anything and later regretted it.

On the other side of the coin not everyone can afford the best there is. They have two choices…do without, or buy less expensive.

The Kalibr Cricket is a less expensive option. Not cheap by any standard, but offers different features at a lower cost. Zocoloco pointed out, in his Cricket v. Edgun post, the various differences.

There is plenty of market space for both products, so no one need be concerned. Right now, Evanix, Kalibr, and Edgun are the only bullpup games in town.

There are three distinct levels of quality in these three offerings. Depending on your budget, and desire for special features, there is something for everyone. That’s a good thing.

Ed,

don’t understand me wrong, it’s not in your direction about the price, your gun is every € worth!
But not the big margin of the others 🙂

Ed,

What I mean is that the pricerange of the Edguns for some in EU (belgium, Holland) is too high.
If you see a bullpup 750€ cheaper with “almost” same specs, a lot will not wait to get extra cash but buy the cheaper cricket.

I don’t have any doubts the real deal is the Edgun 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, but I don’t speak for the mass population 🙂

As you know I am not tuned to the mass buyers 🙂 I just know as it will be and that is why I am yawning idly reading about it. I know Maverick quite good to understand what it will turn out at the end. I have that experience, and not once. Besides he follow me step by step, it is so funny to look at that behavior.

No doubt, I can make the guns cheaper, making worse stocks, buying the cheapest barrels instead of the premium ones, paying no attention to the air consumption, efficiency and many other things which makes my guns expensive. Yes, I can do it but I will not. I consider making guns as an art not as business and my task is to make the perfect gun, the price is much less important thing. If there will be many of those who prefer mass product to the quality and soul — I just stop doing that and will no regret about it.

I don’t believe this will be a problem for Ed, because his buyers want an Edgun, and have tremendous product loyalty.

However, the world bullpup market is slowly growing, and manufacturers are beginning to respond to sales demand for bullpups. Evanix and Kalibr are two companies that have taken note of the pent up demand, and are addressing that need. There is money to be made out there.

Competition drives pricing margins. All makers must make a profit or they have no incentive to produce their product. When enough bullpups hit the market, and become readily available, prices will have to drop unless the maker has enough sales to satisfy his needs.

Ed may choose to stay in the top end of the pricing scheme for now. He may stay there indefinitely if sales support his operation. Who knows?

The point I’m showing is yet another bullpup is becoming available on the market. Imported from the Czech Republic, as Ed is doing in Estonia, that is entering the market with an assembly/export plan to get their merchandise away from Russian politicians strange, and stupid, paranoia about opening up their borders, and markets, to the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, let’s see what quality and features Cricket brings to market.

I think this could be a problem for Ed (–> because..)or hopefully a price drop for the Edgun importer at Holland/Belgium. The marging is way too high..
People see a “bullpup” and not a bad one, so the difference of 750€ is A LOT!

No 🙂 They couldn’t make me a problem being in Russia, I doubt they can do it being out of it 🙂

This caught my eye…

Bullpup in walnut butt, and 8 shot in .35 and 250 Joules…

That’s 185ish ft-lbs… 😯

2 Joules is like 1.5 ft-lbs…!

Conversion of the price points:
1200 Euro is $1500
1500 Euro is $1875
1800 Euro is $2250

Competition is always good for the consumer. 😉
