.22 vs .25 in a different way (same weight and speed)
Wich caliber would be best for long range if the pellets weight is the same and the speed is the same?
These .22 JSB Beast are 33gr
And these .25 are also 33gr
​So if they are shot at the same speed, say 880 fps or 930 fps wich would have the best accuracy? The one with smaller head (.22) or bigger?

My bro.. i can handle a bird with a stone through it with my hand… 15 yard is nothing… im talking about 40 mtrs and farther up to 150 mtrs .. or even more …
Guys , at 15 yds. shooting Exact King Heavy 33.95 gr. I do not have any problems . Shooting them either from my .25 Talon SS or my
.25 Vulcan the pellets always go completely through the birds and they may walk about 10 yds. away before their nerves know that
they are dead , but they never fly away . This is my number 1 choice of pellet grain for killing Coyote size game up to 20 yds. :4:

PAPA Ville… i totally agree with you, i noticed that with my real hunting practice with birds ….. the larger surface/diameter needs more air and there will be more air resistance these will effect the penetration …. i never found my .22cal pellets inside the body of any birds i hunted ,,, and they killed instantly … but i tried my .25cal and noticed they will fly after hitting for a while and still not killed ,,, i lost most of the birds i hunted with .25cal even with 940 FPS , 925 FPS , 890 FPS …. that is why i disappointed with .25cal air rifles … now, i don’t want to take them to hunt anymore ,,,only my lovely .22cals (STD & Short) ….

A .22 cal , since the diam is smaller , will have better BC in real Life shooting. That´s when the weight & speed are equal. The .25 cal has larger surface area hence more air resistance and wind effect on the projectile.

That said : The Boogieman is right. The Dildoish shape of the smaller diam pellet will require either faster rifling or more speed to get it into an adequate spin.
You will likely notice the beast pellets require a faster speed(1,000 fps +) to be accurate. The “dildo-shaped” pellets require a much faster speed, so ultimately, you may find the beast winning the contest.
Plug in the average ballistic coefficient for each (higher is better) and then look at terminal energy and drop at the ranges you want in a ballistic calculator (like ChairGun). If hunting consider the terminal energy needed.
