Q:

2240 mods

I have always wanted a 2240.. ordered one last night from the crosman custom shop..

What will be some good mods and parts for this gun?

Can someone tell me where to get quality parts of the 2240?

Thanks,

Last night I finished the refillable modification. This allows me to fill more than one cylinder and then swap them as needed.

Needed a new valve, body tube and then the CO2 cylinder.

The CO2 cylinder has a burst plug and CO2 bleed valve, makes filling a snap. I weight the cylinder empty and then after filling so I know it is not over filled.

Hope this gives some more ideas on what you might do with your.

The brass thing with Foster fitting is my fill adapter.

This is what I did to mine.

New grips, trigger spring adjuster, .177 longer barrel, air stripper, custom breech, 10 shot magazine, custom bulk conversion, etc.

You can do as little and or never finish modifying. I’m working on removable CO2 cylinders now, 75+ shots per fill. I’ll post photos when the paint dries.

The 22XX series is a blast, IMHO.

Very nice work JFF! My wife is also from Elkhart. Nice country!

Charles Mellon of Mellon Air is good, stay away from Bluefork design, he makes some neat stuff, but you almost have to sue him to get it once you pay for it. Cothran is excellent they say.

A metal breech, the poly tube tranfer port mod, longer barrel and trigger mod with the sear and spring are good places to start. They are easy to mod to HPA and that with the poly port mod and longer barrel will give you the most gain in power.

The Rim magazine conversion is also great.

This one has a Blue Fork design frame, Anthony J breech and barrel band, a Mellon bolt, poweradjuster/stock port, Paintball M4 stock, RIM mag conversion, 14 inch barrel, TKO LDC and a HiPac HPA conversion and the valve staked with two more retaining screws. The barrel has had the Poly port mod and the valve has been ported and polished, same as the Boss valve.

I have a Disco Boss valve coming and will put on a 14 inch Disco tube.

Velocity on the stock gun was 420FPS with cpl’s it will do 700FPS with cpl’s now, I am hoping for 800 FPS with the Disco valve.

Enjoy yourself they are fun to mess with. Parts are cheap if you screw up.
