2240 pistol degassing problem, please help????
It’s late and I am throwing in the towel hoping to wake up in the morining with some sound advice.
I am trying to build a 2240 pistol and I am using a disco valve (but I also had the same problem with the stock crosman valve) all stock internals. I am getting a good puncture hole in the 12 gr carts, but the minute I fire the first time it lets all the gas out. I took it apart and could not seem to figure out anything wrong, so I put it back together and once again…total gas dump????????????
One thing I noticed is that the new Crosman valve face o rings have a much wider hole than the old ones I have….but again, when you hold a cart up to it they seem to seal properly. I am also torquing the end cap down firmly. What would cause the valve spring to not seal the valve stem after the hammer strike???
I appreciate your help as I would like to get this one together…it is a gift for a buddy 😥

What is this spacer I found here on the 2300 valve??? I don’t have a spacer in mine, nor do I have one in my other cart guns, and they are fine….(part 11D on the valve schematic)

There is nothing that goes between the filler cap and the powerlette. Metal on metal, but there is no problem with the way it works.

I have two new ones from Crosman and I tried them both and I had the same problem…
I have never had a 2240. Is there a piece that goes into the tube cap that holds the cart in place??? If so, that would explain it. I am using the cap by itself (which seems fine) I am going to pull up the schematic on Crosman now….Thanks RJ for helping me figure this out as no one else is 😡
I had a similar problem and cured it by placing a drop of oil, insert your favorite brand here, on the powerlette nipple and then making sure the powerlette was secured in place by tightening the filler cap very snugly. At first I thought you only needed to apply a little pressure but found out that more than a little was needed.
One other thing, make sure your valve halves are tight. I use a small amount of blue Locktite on the valve threads when I put them together.

Come on guys. I need help on this one. I changed the o ring and it is still dumping all the co2. I checked to make sure the hammer isn’t staying on the valve stem…S.O.S! 😥

It’s coming out the tube and through the trigger frame. I’m thinking I might need a new valve face O ring…I will try that, but I am out of co2 carts and have to buy some before I can test it.

2300 is different than the 2240.
There is no spacer in the 2240.
