2240 shotgun?
Hey guys, I want a 2240 for a specific purpose, just an open sight carbine.
I remember seeing something awhile ago, of a shotgun breech for the 2240 uses 310 roundballs or special shotgun “shells”
Are these still made? Or is the person who made them not around.

I forgot about that rear cocking pistol. Very ingenious as I broke at least a half a dozen bolt handles in my quest for 22xx power 😡
I have a feeling this is going to get my 22xx juices flowing once more. I have 13xx pumper that needs to be hot rodded. Suppose a flat top is in order.
i sent tofaz my 2240 to tune it up when it was all said and done if i turned the power adjuster up i could get over 1000fps with 14.3grn chps i did all the valve work myself and he installed a spring that was heavier for the hammer to get the fps up

That’s a CB Breech… be careful as the aluminum will gall making it hard to cock at times, that is one reason why I have that top gun a rear cocking gun… the hammer spring is a bit heavy and so it was near impossible to cock with the breech bolt.
haha… yeah, Tof definitely knows his shit. I pretend like I do. Sometimes my results are great…sometimes… eh… but Tof is one of the guys I go to when I have questions so that should tell you something.
When you get a tank, you can see your pressure by what the tank says… should be able to do it with a hand pump as well though…

Also, you are a royal a** because I searched and found you and Tofs post about tearing down your guns and now, before I even have my dang thing, I am tempted by you 2.
Also I am searching for an airtank because right now as I only have a pump, how do you see what pressure you’re filling the gun to, since it has no gauge?
haha… I have a few guns so have been around a bit.
Hipac is an option. I’ve seen good results with them, but I personally dont own one hipac’d.. I’d still go with a boss Discovery valve.. be sure to drill out your tube for the extra retaining bolts though… that, with a hipac should get you a couple of nice shots.
Grips… Rick Anders or http://www.rb-grips.net … trigger…. a couple folks make nice triggers. Don Cothran makes a roller trigger that is nice. Grant Stace makes some really nice stuff if you can get hands on them and can deal with the crazy.
Bryan and Associates used to make a 9mm upper, but I dont know if they do now or not… aside from that, unless you go Muzzle loader, you’ll need a custom breech. With a pistol though, not a big deal to muzzle load it. JB Weld off the back end of the barrel and cut your bolt.. done. If you go 9mm, you’ll need a much larger can on it.. sights… easy. Get a set of QB78 D sights. They will sit right on a breech and brake nicely… Here is a set of them on a 2240 build that I had done up…
and the same thing on a 13xx build that I did…
I did see that… I’d still venture a guess it’s running closer to 100 fpe than 130, but we’ll see… !

Im thinking new grips, aftermarket trigger, new breech and barrel of caliber undecided. If I hipac it, I would go for a daq pistol type, powerful round ball shooter for couple shoots. If not I might stick with 22 and go for little more power.
Also a tko break either way and new sights.

Couple of options here…. I’ve made both and am working on another 9mm carbine based on a 22xx design. I know some here have gotten some good power out of them… I’ve done little with power mods.
Understand that if you want a 9mm carbine, you need to go with a rifled barrel. Track of the Wolf has .36 cal barrel liners that are perfect for this. You’ll need to drill out a transfer port hole and will need a breech/bolt for 9mm, unless you want to do a muzzle loader. If you want a bit more power, perhaps bulk fill and use a B&A Boss valve.
For a shotgun (but understand that power will be limited), simply use a section of 11mm brass tubing and drill a transfer port hole, JB weld the back end shut, remove the bolt and use an SSP225 type body with a rear cocking… muzzle load your shot and you’re done. Really fun for carpenter bees in the summer time.
I have a 9mm upper for a Crosman and was going to get someone to build a tube/valve for me but this hasnt happened so I’m going to use a section of PCP tubing and a QB79 adapter and HPA tank at 1600-1800psi and see what I get with that and a heavier hammer spring. Hoping for 500fps out of this 14 inch barrel and that setup with a Discovery Boss valve… we’ll see. It’s on my project board.
